I had been using the Neutrogena Oil-Free Fresh Moisture during warm months, and their Oil-Free Moisture during the winter. The Fresh Moisture IS lighter, & I live in a very humid climate. (It’s already 85 degrees here today - but will be 48 on Wed. so I’m alternating moisturizers based on how my skin feels on any given day.)
I still want something even lighter for daytime during warm weather, & something without parabens! I’m trying to phase them out. For the past week, instead of moisturizer in the AM, I’m using Aloe Life Skin Gel Ultimate Skin Treatment. It has whole leaf aloe vera in it, & so far, so good. Keep in mind that it is even LIGHTER than the Fresh Moisture, so Dan, you probably won’t like it, but I’m giving it a try.
At night, I’ve been using Dove Sensitive Skin Facial Lotion, but it doesn’t seem to be widely available. I’ve also used the Olay Sensitive Moisture Therapy Lotion, but it seems too heavy for daytime for me.
Dan, I tried your moisturizer when it came out, but it stung & made my face red, so I couldn’t stick with it. Sorry! I use your cleanser & BP, though. However, in the winter, I do use Aquanil cleanser in the morning, which reduces flakiness. It’s not effective at removing makeup, though, so I stick to Dan’s cleanser at night year round.
I don’t like neutrogena oil free moisturizers, i have tried many and they feel just as dan said. the one that works for me is eucerin redness relief for sensitive skin. it can feel a little greasy but so far that is the only one that has worked good for me. now for the flaking that occurs due to the regimen, I apply the bp let it dry and then after apply vitamin E gel cap on my face, and the next morning i have no flaking of the skin and leaves my face nice and soft. anyone who is on the regimen should try this it even helps with sarring.
jo the girl; try Cetaphil - its a liquidy white mixture that leaves no marks on your face, goes on really quick, and leaves your face (at least, mine!) moisturised and you don’t even realise you’ve put something on.
Dan, I really want to tell my friends and poeple I know about the regimen and how great it is. I want to get them to at least try it for a period of time. How do I tell friends and stuff about how I think they should use it? I don’t know, I just don’t wanna come off like I know everything about acne or I don’t want them to get offended.
Thanks dan, great videos!
Hi, Andrew thanks for the advice. wich kind of cetaphil? as you may know they are many. long ago I used the cetaphil thick cream and it would clog my pores. hope you reply soon!
whatt someone actually said dan needs to get a scar remover available to us, yeah he can easily and cheaply send laser treatments out to us in the mail no problem.
Hey Dan, I was wondering if you could do a video on acne and tanning/fake tanning products. I would also like to know about tanning/fake tan products while on the regimen.
Although Dan’s moisturizer does provide excellent flakiness control and leaves my face looking nice in general, when I put it on it stings a bit at first. The stinging goes away quickly enough, but I am nonetheless curious as to why it does this.
How come people say Dan needs to do this and that?
He really doesn’t. How about please Dan can you consider this and that. manners people manners :p
Neutrogena Visibly Even Moisturizer with SPF 15 is nice at fading marks (well for me it is) and has SPF. It doesn’t moisture a lot so I use two lotions. YAY.
Dan…this might sound weird…but would you be willing to try make-up…or at least recommend specific products that we’re SURE won’t break people out? I know it’s really not part of the regimen, but I think it would be great to have a sort of “Dan’s recommended make-up” for women who are already clear and just want some light coverage. Maybe a type of tinted moisturizer, or light make-up. I’ve been on the regimen for over two months and I did it WITHOUT make-up. Now that i’m clear, i can start wearing make-up again to help even out my skin tone and cover up some dark spots that only time (and AHA) will cure, but I’m so hesitant to try anything that isn’t “Dan Approved.” Anyway just some thoughts and thank you for all you’ve done…sorry for the long post.
Dan’s moisturizer made my face burn and turn red. It was so painful that even after washing it off, I had to lie down with an ice pack on my face just to get relief. I have NEVER had a reaction like that to any face product that I’ve ever used, and believe me I’ve used several over the years trying to combat my acne. I have not since found a moisturizer that is light feeling, moisturizes adequately, and does not turn my face into an oil slick, so I’m very glad that Dan is testing them for us! Hopefully it will save me the trouble of wasting more money on products that don’t work for me.
I really like Complex 15 in the morning and Cetaphil Cream (in the tub) at night. I think it’s too much to expect one moisturizer to take care of flakiness and not be too shiny. That’s why I use one for day and one for night.
