Im convinced that my birthcontrol consistently caused my break outs. I was taking Reclipsen and constantly breaking out. Ive been on the Acne regimen almost three full weeks and have some under the skin pimples that have been there for almost 2 weeks. I recently ordered the AHA so Im hoping that will exfoliate the skin and clear up my remaining blemishes. Any information on birthcontrol + acne would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Dan

I'm seconding J here. Is there an actual reason to wait 15 minutes after washing and after bp? And is there evidence that doing everything the same except for waiting the 15 minutes makes a difference?

Why do we need to wait until the face fully dries (15 minutes) to apply the medication? Can you go further into why that is so important? I am sure that I am not the only one wondering this…

I was using the Acne.org regimen religiously for about three years, and I was clear about 90% of the time. After that I started taking oral contraceptives. It took being on the pill about 6-7 months before I could stop the regimen (it seemed like a really long time especially because I was expecting 3-4 months), but now I am usually very clear, and - although I still make daily use of your cleanser, moisturizer and AHA - I only have to use Benzoyl Peroxide for about four days each month when I get a mild breakout on my forehead. The strange thing is that before starting the pill, my cheeks were my big problem area but I'd never broken out on my forehead before.

I just wanted to say, from personal experence. Birth control is the only thing that works to take care of about 60% of my breakouts. the other 30 is retin-a and the rest is up to chance. mostly clogged pores and blackheads that i have to deal with now. one thing at a time right? just saying, if your breaking out around your chin/jaw area it is most likely hormonal and that leaves you with only a few options to control :)
