FYI - jojoba oil is a natural sunscreen. Used alone, you'd get about an hour of protection. Mixed into someone's sunscreen for sale, you will NOT be diluting your sunscreen; it's all supportive.

Titanium dioxide, in addition to zinc oxide, is also non-comedogenic. I've been using Bare Escentuals sunscreen (SPF 30) on my face, which is a powder sunscreen containing titanium dioxide. I've had no problems with it. In fact, I think it's helped make my skin go from 95% clear to 99% clear. I've been also using California Baby on the rest of my body. It's the only non-chemical sunscreen (no avobenzone or oxybenzone) that blends really well and isn't greasy. Might be a good alternative for anyone who doesn't want to use a makeup-like, tinted powder. Dan, why not check out California Baby brand and perhaps manufacture a cheaper version, the same way you did BP? Like the manufacturers of California Baby, don't to use any parabens, propylene glycol, or any other chemicals like that in the formula, which have been found to be toxic. I'm very glad you don't put any of those things in your BP, which works quite well for me.

Keep up the good work.

Best,
Alex

My vote would be for a zinc-oxide only sunscreen in an extremely light base of Water and silicones. No fragrance or glycerin either.

Everyone has great ideas...to sum up my thoughts on this...my suggestion is to --
-sell the SPF without the jojoba oil...
-make a travel size of jojoba oil that people can add on if they want.
-the SPF needs to be at least 30..15 is good for some, but not for fair skin with the regimen you are selling. (so maybe have both 15 and 30)

My question is--Will adding the jojoba oil dilute the strength of the SPF? IMPORTANT TO KNOW. And when does it come out? :) yay!

Hi Dan

May I suggest that you give options to people to choose whether they will like to have jojoba oil included with their purchase of SPF moisturizer? New users may need the jojoba oil, but majority who are your "old" customers will not need it anymore. I have bought the jojoba oil so I wont need it if I'm going to get the SPF moisturizer from you. It will eliminate waste of jojoba oil. I forsee some may throw it away when they find they dont need it at all. I dont need any flaky control as well, so the jojoba oil I bought is basically for my hair.

Hope you can look into my suggestion. Great work! Keep it up. I really hope to see your trial run on this SPF moisturizer soon.... real soon. I cant wait to try it. Hurry up.. Put it in the trial run NOW!

WHEN DOES THIS COME OUT?!?!? This video was made almost a month ago... and I REALLY NEED SPF! I'm not comfortable purchasing one that isn't made by Dan... mostly cuz I don't want it to effect my regimen. The last thing I need is for some random spf lotion to take me 2 steps back when I just started making forward progress!!!
MAKE IT FAST!! :) With or without jojoba (you can never have too much, it'll always be used eventually) I'm ready for Dan's SPF!!!!

I love the idea, I'll buy it in a heartbeat with or without jojoba oil, but I think it's a good idea to give people the option of buying it without, because some of us already have a big multipurpose bottle of jojoba oil!
I completely back the SPF 30, I personally wouldn't use any less on my face!

Looking forward to it:)

I definitely want spf 30, there are tons of moisturizers out there with 15, I want a 30! I don't think you need to sell it with the oil though, since a lot of people already have it. I think, maybe sell 2 version, 1 with oil, 1 with out. For sure do spf 30 though.

i loveee mario badescu's moisturizer. i use it on a daily basis, and it simply has spf 15. i use the collagen moisuturizer (SPF-15) because my skin is combination and can be dry, but they have many variations. the most popular moisturizer of mario badescu's is the oil-free moisturizer (SPF-15) and is recommended for most that are acne-prone. i have not had any negative results with this moisturizer. it's greatt.

ive purchased many of your products and think that the addition of a sunscreen has been a long time coming! as a 24 year old who has battled acne since middle school and who is also a religious sunscreen user, i would appreciate an spf 30 without jojoba oil. from what ive seen in myself and friends, jojoba oil can clog pores and trigger breakouts in some people. i think a very benign, oil free formula would be best. thenpeople can then layer things like moisturizers, treatments and jojoba oil if they wish.

i would also recommend zinc oxide as the active sun blocker. it is less pore clogging than titanium dioxide, has healing properties and is safe for those with sensitive skin (and those who are using acne treatments often have skin that is sensitized). also, the effectiveness of chemical sunscreens can be cancelled out by mineral foundations, which many acne prone gals (and even some guys) use.

hope this helps! cant wait to see what you guys come up with!

I've been waiting for Dan's SPF since your original moisturizer was released, hehe. I don't know much about SPF and whatnot, but I do know that since I've been using your AHA+ (day and night, my skin seems very malleable), flakiness has been completely under control. Anyone using your AHA+ just at night wouldn't need to use the jojoba oil on top of the SPF because their flakiness would probably be under control.

Beside all that, I already have your jojoba oil (as most people on these boards do), and it is used very slowly, so I don't believe packaging it along with the SPF would be necessary.

Well, my final opinion on this: don't include the jojoba (since everyone already has it, or is willing to buy it separately; and AHA+ owners have flakiness under control anyway) , and if it's not too troublesome, have both SPF 15 and 30 (I'd be fine with either, but it seems everyone here is torn on which they want, though leaning towards SPF 15). In the end, I just want this SPF! I've been waiting for years! =O

Is this an avobenzone-based sunblock, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, or something else? I'm very curious to try this out because I'm so picky about sunblocks, as most irritate my skin.

I agree with what many others have been saying: offer a smaller bottle of jojoba oil to go with the sunblock, but don't force people to buy the bundle. The Proactiv, AcneFree, etc. mentality is to bundle bundle bundle products, and what I love about your online store is that there is no financial incentive to buy bundled products (besides shipping costs). The flexibility is a great benefit for customers.
