I've searched this site up and down and can't find the answer to my question ..I've been using 'the regimen' now for about 3 weeks and its doing very well; however, I also suffer from hyperpigmentation. I currently have hydroquinone 2%, but do not know exactly when to apply while using 'the regimen'..should I wait 10-15 minutes (morning and night) after applying all the steps from the regimen and then use it? Should I cut out the step 3 (the moisturizer), then apply it? Please help.

This is one of my biggest issues. I am 27 y/o and did not suffer from acne until a couple years ago. I have found the your AHA+ is the best product for the red spots, even though it does take some time. I have recommended it to all of my friends. It even helps control my breakouts. Love it and love the customer service here.

Hi Dan

Thanks for doing this! I am black and have hyperpigmentation of the skin due to acne. I've tried so many things from glycolic peels, lactic acid peels. green peels, hydroquinone, microdermabrasion, meladerma, derma white etc. In the last two weeks i notice a significant improvment in the spots from doing a aspirin and honey maskonce a week and taking vit c 1000mg and vit e 800iu daily. Im not sure what is actually working but that was my new regime in the last two weeks. I can't belive the results. i suffered from this for years. Today I also start my RX for brown skin regime and really hope this product will help speed up the process. But so far crushing about 6-7 aspirin tablets and mixing with honey is doing the trick. only downfall is my skin is really dry.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I am white (French Canadian, Irish, and Cherokee Indian) but I have suffered from horrible skin since I was about ten and I am twenty five now. I have tried so many things from Proactive to Mary Kay, Neutrogena, Loreal, Burt's Bees and the list goes on. BUT I have just discovered African Black Soap (I use the Nubian Heritage brand) and it really dries up pimples without over drying my skin. In conjunction I use raw, unrefined Shea butter as a moisturizer and that's it! The Shea butter turned me off at first because it feels like oil on your skin but actually it has the same chemical properties as natural sebum (the oil from our pores) but unlike sebum, Shea butter does not cause breakouts! I have been using this method for about two weeks and have had great results! I usually wash my face 3 times a day and moisturize right afterwards and my skin looks awesome. Just wanted to share because African Black Soap and Shea butter is for all types of skin and has been used since Cleopatra's time! I hope someone out there can find relief using these products just as I have! Oh and beware- if the Shea isn't raw, it's not going to work...the refined Shea has no odor and none of the same great properties as the raw form!

Hi Dan,

Thanks for looking into this area - you are doing a great job helping all of us with this website :) I am of South Asian descent and I have been struggling with these dark spots forever! They take aaages to fade and they make your face look terrible! I HAAAAATE them!!! My face is always discoloured and the spots are so hard to cover with make-up as well. So FRUSTRATING!! I have found that regular micro dermabrassion really helps, and so do some skin lightening creams that you just put on the spots - these creams are more readily available in Asia though. I hope they find an easier solution for this. This is the worst thing about having darker skin!!

I have used Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Tone Correcting Concentrated Serum Night, and honestly it's worked great for me. I have very fair skin (I am Hispanic) and I used this nightly on my dark spots (which were veryyyyy noticeable) and within two weeks they were dramatically faded. I continue to use this now and I would definitely recommend it! It's a bit pricey, about $16-$21 depending on where you buy it at, but well worth it. Each 1oz. tube has lasted me roughly a 4-6 weeks.

I am African American & have imflammatory Hyper Pigmentation - dark scars from acne. it was encourageing to see your video. I don't have break out's anymore, since I stopped using Proactiv & Mary Kay - now I use African black soap & it's great on my skin, no more break outs. I use pure unrefined Coconut oil as a moisturizer in the winter. The problem now is how to get rid of these scars...I don't want to use Obige or something smiliar for fear of breaking out..any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. You referenced a few peels, could you give the exact spelling for those peels? Thanks again, this website is great...

Hey thanks Dan. I've been trying to get rid of my acne blemishes for about 5 years now, and I've been unsuccessful. I hoping to get a chemical peel, but it seems like I have to get a doctor's approval first. Anyway, I'd be happy to tell you how my procedure's going and help with your research. I know a lot of girls that slather on make-up to hide scaring, I'm one of them. I'd like to help get their confidence back.
