    Dan,
I am a little confused about how and if I should incorporate the sal acid into the regimen. What is the purpose of creating and selling it, and will it help people in treating their acne? Please touch upon this in tomorrow’s video, I am sure there are a lot of us who are wondering. Thank you!!!

  2. Scott Says:

Why not just mix the jojoba oil into the moisturizer at the factory? Also, since the purpose of the moisturizer is to calm the skin/minimize flaking, why not add the licorice extract into it as well (like you do with the AHA?

    Thanks.

  3. Realme2008 Says:

Dan, you are so awesome once again! I really thank you for making these videos, because you seem like really genuine guy who really cares about his customers and wants people to have a really good complexion.
Anyway, I think you are right to wait and hold off on the SPF if you feel it isn’t ready yet or it isn’t the best it could possibly be. I just add jojoba oil to my moisturizer, and it work wonderfully. I’m glad you are going to make a moisturizer with spf in it though, because that’s going to be awesome!!!

    Thanks, again!

  4. Dave Says:

Dan, you are awesome! Thanks for answering my question, I appreciate it. I’m really grateful for how much you want to help people and interact with us. You’re a very genuine person and if I hadn’t found your regimen, I’d still be struggling with acne (as I had for 10 years previously, trying countless treatments to no avail). So basically I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks!

I don’t know what to suggest for the SPF. Is there any way to mix in a little bit of jojoba oil to the SPF moisturizer like you do with your regular moisturizer?

(By the way, I don’t expect you to respond to everything said in the comments section, especially when it comes to details and logistics. Don’t feel the need to give us an in-depth explanation on things you already have taken care of. I’m just trying to provide feedback/ideas…but you’re undoubtedly the expert on this stuff).

Hahaha, I always pronounced it “jo-jo-ba” not “ho-ho-ba” lol. You learn sumthin’ new everyday.

Oh man, Dan. I would rock the everliving crap out of an acne.org t-shirt. Hell, if they weren’t too expensive, I’d stock up on those suckers. I’d sleep in them, since they’re white and my BP wouldn’t bleach them, and I’d totally wear them out, too. I tell people about this site all the time, and I’d be wicked proud to wear those shirts!

  7. Colin Says:

I wear the acne.org shirt all the time! I would also be intersted in using a SPF moisturizer because where I am (St. Croix, VI) I always use a SPF moisturizer.

  8. cool as kim deal Says:

“Am I allowed to say that?” :P

I’ve been pretty happy using your non-SPF moisturizer (which definitely takes care of flakiness) with an inexpensive sunblock on top of it during the day. It’s barely even an extra step on top of moisturizing because I just mix it right in to the moisturizer in my palm before applying it. I can appreciate the convenience of an all-in-one moisturizer+SPF product, but this honestly works so well and is affordable that I’m not sure why more people haven’t tried using regular sunblock plus non-SPF moisturizer. Lots of people seem stuck on using just one product for moisturizing+SPF, which I think usually requires compromising on the moisturizing and/or irritation, as you seem to have found with your many iterations of this product. By using the moisturizer I want and the gentle sunblock I want, I don’t have to give up either of these.

  9. themintyness Says:

Scott (and others who think you can just add the oil into the lotion/product and leave it at that), you can’t just mix it in. You have to keep it suspended and stabilized. It’s a really delicate chemical composition that can get completely skewed if you change up even one thing. Especially when you’re working with a product that has SPF components, the factors that you have to account for get even more complicated. If it was really that simple, then anyone could make it.

  10. themintyness Says:

Oh, by the way, I just want to tell Dan, thank you for your products! I’d buy your SPF lotion either way, right now I’m using your regular moisturizer with Olay’s sensitive skin SPF 15 on top of it and it seems to work great. Good luck!

  11. Jay Says:

Awesome, keep us updated. I check a few times everyday to see if there are any new blogs that you have posted. For once in my life I have been given a hope to finally defeat my problem, and you are like a flag waving in the wind keeping my morale up and my head up high.

  12. Dave Says:

I’m fine with him just releasing it. If nothing else people could add jojoba or the regular moisturizer to it.

  13. Realme2008 Says:

“Especially when you’re working with a product that has SPF components, the factors that you have to account for get even more complicated. If it was really that simple, then anyone could make it.” - Yeah, I really agree with that, because he has to make sure everything balances out. Just altering the product in one little way sometimes can upset the delicate balance. It takes a long time to make products like these too, because they have to get FDA approved. It’s a lengthy process.

  14. Elsewhere Says:

I would so wear a sweatshirt! If you could get it up on the site in the store, I would seriously buy one!

  15. Anonymous Says:

Dan, let me just say your Salicylic Acid is awesome! Dont ever discontinue it!! Your AHA is awesome too. While you SPF is also probably awesome as well, I just want to know if it contains brad spectrum protection - Both UVB and UVA protection?

  16. Anonymous Says:

I would wear the acne.org shirt! I am in love with the site and i know people would ask about it.

  17. Yeon Says:

I’m also curious about UVA protection!

  18. Allen Says:

Hi Dan, was wondering if you planned on having a holiday sale maybe? Would love an answer on your next Vblog, there a joy to watch. :)

    Allen

  19. Sierra117 Says:

I hope the SPF lotion is available by April or so.

  20. Dave Says:

I agree. April would a nice time for the SPF to be available.

  21. Leen Says:

I would release the spf as is, with a disclaimer, and maybe add a second, more moisturising type later on. Personally, I need something matte, and there isn’t much out there…

  22. Bubbi Says:

Will the SPF be chemical (Octocrylene, PABA, etc.) or physical (titanium dioxide or zinc oxide)? I ask because chemical sunscreens are common skin irritants and allergens to some. Also, I don’t believe any chemical sunscreen offers both UVA and UVB protection, whereas physical sunscreens offer both.

  23. Alex Says:

hello Dan just put some off your AHA+ into the moisteriser.

    take care,
    Alex

  24. thp1017 Says:

Hmmm… any possibility of you making a formulation WITHOUT any kind of moisturizers? Personally, with my current regimen, II really only need to moisturize during the winter, the rest of the year I don’t really use any, or only as spot treatments depending on the current weather.

  25. melissa Says:

My sister and I both suffer from adult acne and love your products. It has done amazing things to both our faces!!
We can’t say enough about acne.org and would love it if you sold t-shirts, etc!!

  26. Vicki Says:

I would say to just go with it and then people can either add the Jojoba oil or use moisturizer on top. I currently add the Jojoba oil to my moisturizer anyway. Currently I use a day solution (MaryKay has spf 30) which is intended for use with a moisturizer on top. It’s the only one that doesn’t make me super shiny…but then that’s what the Jojoba is for ;-) I’ve been holding out for your spf solution to come along…

  27. Mike Says:

Hey Dan, why don’t you go ahead and release the spf moisturizer as a beta, like you’ve done with the Salycilic acid. There’s plenty of us that would like to try it out right away even if it’s not quite right yet.
