| Cons | Left me with brown patches especially on my forehead. I became allergic to it after several months and had to quit. I did not have particularly sensitive skin before using this product, now I do even after discontinuing a year ago. |
| Bottom line | USE SUN PROTECTION EVERY DAY! Come winter, summer, on sunny, rainy, snowy...every single day...Otherwise you will end up with sun damage. If you can't commit to that, don't use this product. |

| Bottom line | I hate this. I looked at the rash i got, and immediately threw out the tube. It is unsightly and will not go away for a long time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL! |

| Bottom line | I have had acne since i was about 14 and i am 21 now.... i have visited several dermatologists and been on many different treatments but this has been the only one that has done such an efficient job at preventing and getting rid of moderate acne.... i use 5% twice a day and the only con is that my skin feels pretty dry but considering how much it has helped with my acne it's well worth it. |

| Bottom line | Definitely give it a shot. I do not have severe acne, but I have extremely oily skin and I'm very prone to white heads. I am applying 5% gel about once a day and it already seems to be working. It makes my skin nice and drier, which is a plus for someone like me who has extreme oil production. If you have dry skin or somewhat dry skin, this medication could make you peel, so either seek a lower dose or use less frequently. It won't change oil production if you have greasy skin. I'm also taking spiro in order to combat that. I have a 60g tube gel which I paid about 18$ for. My insurance, United Health, didn't cover it so I was debating on not getting it since I didn't even know how it worked and 18 isn't something I just want to throw away. Glad I tried it. A tube will last a long while too. You shouldn't have to apply it to your ENTIRE face, just the affected area. On me that's just the chin, nose, and maybe some forehead. |

| Cons | Can leave your skin sensitive, burning sensation, more sensitive to the sun and becoming sunburnt. You definately need a high SPF when you go outside. |
| Bottom line | BRedness usually goes away after a few months of using it. Your skin is able to tolerate the side effects after using it for a long period of time. I recommend using it every other EVENING before you go to bed, then build up to using every single evening. If you use this during the day, it WILL make your skin experience the side effects to a higher degree! |

| Bottom line | While using this product to clear acne I went though many nights of my skin burning, itching and peeling to extreme amounts. Even moisturizing wouldn't stop the peeling. I was prescribed 10% off the bat from my doctor (which may be part of the problem). At least a year or two later my skin has been having rosacea-like symptoms (which I am 100% sure are due to the benzoyl peroxide). Although it is a fast acne solution, it really takes a toll on your skin. |

| Bottom line | This stuff is fantastic. I got the generic 2.5% aqueous solution for sensitive skin from my local drugstore. I have very sensitive skin and am in my 30s. I recently started getting tiny bumps all over my face. Some swelled, others didn't but, they just wouldn't go away. I tried changing my diet, erythromycin, exfoliating. Nothing helped. Finally, I found this board and found benzoyl peroxide, which I've never tried. This is my 3rd day on it. 90% of the bumps are gone. Any red marks that are left are going away really fast. I've also been moisturizing a lot during the day and putting polysporin cream on the red spots. I can believe how fast this is working. My face is red and stings a bit but, slathering on the moisturizer is helping a lot. Once my face is all clear, I'll keep using this twice a week for maintenance. My skin has trouble exfoliating and this stuff works. It's also clearing up the keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms. |
