Pros: works pretty well after only a week! Cons: sweating reacts really badly in combination... Bottom Line: I have been using the acne.org regimen but i am beginning to dry and find other solutions. i'm an athlete, so i run and sweat a lot. i noticed that after i sweat my face would sting after using benzoyl peroxide. i had a race one saturday so i figured i would take the day off from medicating my skin. it didnt really help. my skin still stung and i had completely washed off the benzoyl peroxide from the day before. i'm a little confused on what to do about it. it's on its way to clearing up my acne but when i exercise a lot it hurts pretty bad and turns my skin reddish for a while. Pros: cheap great spot treatment convenient- dries and won't rub off at night Cons: very drying on the wrong parts of my face Bottom Line: I only use it on spots and on my chin. The rest of my face breaks out only when it gets dry, so trying the BP on the rest of my face was disastrous. This really works for me and my skin is looking great- only one spot on my chin now, and it'll probably peel off tomorrow. This is a huge difference from where I was a couple months ago. I wish I tried this earlier. OTC stuff didn't do anything for my acne when I was younger, so I didn't think something like this would actually help. But it has! Pros: none for me Cons: do not use if you have sensitive skin. It made my face look and feel like I had severe burns and break out into a rash anywhere it touched my skin. My skin is also still peeling off my face a week later. Bottom Line: Only good if your skin is not sensitive. EXTREMELY drying and harsh and painful effects. Pros: shrinks pimples fast but not cyctic acne Cons: very drying, harsh on skin, burns Bottom Line: It dried up the zit but made it really hard for a few days. Then left a red mark I still have after two months. I think it scars as well since it burns the area. I think calamine lotion is much better and faster and gentle. Pros: It works well, and sort of quickly. Cons: Dries up face a little bit. Also, the perscription stuff is really expensive. Bottom Line: I use Benza-Clin, this gel stuff, and it works well. I just rub it all over my face- once in the morning, once at night. It really reduces acne over time, and if you go off it for a while you don't get awful breakouts (you may get a pimple or two here and there, though). I use it right after washing my face with acne wash, and it works fine with not much dryness. If you put on too much, though, it will dry your face. Pros: It clears acne better then any other product I've tried! & I've tried em all and it's cheap (on Kroger and Wall-mart's $4 list) Cons: Peeling, burns when I moisturize? Bottom Line: It works great. If I apply it with a loofah or scrubby to get rid of flakes and then moisturize right after I use it in the morning and then again at night I don't hardly get flaky at all. I thought it wouldn't work for me since I have sensitive/dry skin but i tried cause its so cheap and with the moisturizing and loofah it works fine!
