Pros:It dryed up my zits fast.
Cons:That being said, I think it was because it took the first layer of my skin off. I am puffy, red, itchey, and peeling. Not to metion the drynesss made my tiny fine lines around my eyes look like craters! Ouch!
Bottom Line:Not for mild acne or an occasional zit. Don't use if think your skin is even kind-of sensitive.

Pros:Benzoyl peroxide quickly reduce papules, postules and white heads.
Does almost nothing to blacks heads made of dried oil.
Used 10% concentration to severe (3 times) and moderate (2 times) conditions and 5% to light spots and until spots drys u
Cons:Causes redness in the long term and turns oily sebum pores and areas to acne rosacea.
Skin treated reacts bad to the sun (use carefully in summer time)
Does nothing to red spots (not infected nor close by sebum)
Bottom Line:Got my recurring severe acne into moderate acne to occasional papules.
Areas that did not had acne before are now prone to stating producing sebum in a crazy way (record was 1 g in the arm pit)

It works as long as you TREAT ONLY AFFECT AREAS AND THE 1 CM SURROUNDING.
It's cheap

Pros:Excellent for cysts.
Cons:Dryness. Redness. Burning.
Bottom Line:No pain no gain? I have been using an 8% prescription benzoyl peroxide after using the more mild 2.5 and 6% over the counter ones. When you initially go on this product it will tend to cause redness, flaking, and a burning sensation. Over time you may, like myself, become more immune to these symptoms but you may also start to get "leather skin". I suggest using this product only at the onset of a breakout.

Pros:Skin is clearing up, not sure if it is the BP alone because I am using it in conjuction with Differin (nights) as well as taking Doxycycline twice a day.
Cons:Severly dries my skin. BUT I use Cetaphil (lotion you can buy at any drug store) which works to rehydrate skin.
Bottom Line:It seems like I am over doing it, but it works for me.
1. Doxycline (morning and night with meals)
2. Benz P (shower - Skin dries so much)
3. Cetaphil Lotion (for dryness-after shower)
4. Differin (at bedtime - This works to bring out the acne overnight, so I brokeout just for a week as the Benz P applied during morning showers combated the acne).
* I continue this routine everyday
* I have been doing this for about 3 weeks and I see results, but I hate the work involved.

Pros:Inexpenive user friendly
Cons:My son was ONLY using 5% and it burned his entire face. I highly recommend SPOT CHECK FIST, we did not do it as the Drematoloist did NOT mention any side effects. Now using thick amount of Hydrocortisone 3 times a day plus Benedryl, Awful!
Bottom Line:Never, Never trust your doctor or anyone, be safe ensure it willnot burn before you apply it to the entire face.

Would NEVER use it again!!!!!

Pros:Inexpensive; helps clear up my cystic acne quicker and slows down the ones that are beginning to appear; Its drying but doesn't burn me. My face is usually oily. Maybe some should do it only once a day or every other day so skin doesnt get too dry.
Bottom Line:Ive had nice clear skin all my life until early 30's when hormones for women go bonkers! I tried almost every prescription cream/gel. (I dont like taking antibiotics) Nothing seemed to work. But Ive been doing Dans steps -using the over the counter products he suggests(Basis soap, Nutrogena on the spot treatment) And its the only thing that works! I do however also use a glycolic peel every so often to help keep my pores clear.

Pros:Has worked great. It did get rid of my acne for a bit when I was doing my twist of the regimen using this instead of the BP alone. Worked great.
Cons:BLEACH. trust me like the other person said you will bleach everything towels, sheets, beds, pillows. Just get white ones and you will be alright. lol
Bottom Line:Try it it isn't too expensive with insurance.
Recommended:Yes
Usage:Gustavo has used this item for about a year.
