Pros: works temporarily Cons: dries out your sking, makes acne worse than before you used the product, may be necessary to use this product continuously in order to see results, stops working over a period of time Bottom Line: Benzoyl peroxide dries out your skin! When this happens, your pores get clogged up which results in more acne!!!!!! Also, if you stop using this product, your acne will be worse than before you used it. So the bottom line is to stay away from this product or any product that has chemicals. Research a natural method to cure your acne instead! Pros: I wish there were some. Cons: -Inflames Acne -Irritates skin -Leaves ugly dark marks that last a long time after it has successfully dried up a pimple Bottom Line: Total garbage for me who is mild-medium acne sufferer, but everybody has different skin so I would give it a try if I were you. Pros: clears up skin only after a few days Cons: burning, itchy sensation accompanied by redness and some peeling Bottom Line: Has worked great while I have been following the Regimen, face does get peely and red as expected but my acne has moslty cleared up only one or to pimples are left to clear up. Pros: Works! Cons: Can be very drying! Gels burnt me a for a while. Bottom Line: The cream dries my skin out a bit more, but it's far less irritating for some reason.. Right now I'm using the 'OXY 5 Regular Strength' benzoyl peroxide lotion. It's 5%, as it's name implies, and it's great. Been using it for about a week now, and the results are solid. Pros: Works really well at clearing up acne and is very fast. Absorbs quickly. Doesn't dry my skin out too much because i have oily skin but still does have a mild drying affect on me. MOISTURIZE AFTER!- Makes skin burn less after 2 minutes, stops dr Cons: Burns and stings when applied to skin and hurts even more when you put the moisturizer over..... makes my face appear red and sun burnt..... my friend commented that my face looked red today... was a bit embarrassed. Bottom Line: I have been using the acne.org kit containing BP, a facial cleanser and moisturizer for 3 days now and it has already made a huge improvement to my back and facial acne. My friends have been complementing my skin =D! (except for one person who told me my skin looked red...) This is the sort of product that works well for some people and not as well for others but there is no harm in giving it a try because it is likely to improve your acne not make it worse. Pros: Inexpensive product which really does clear up your acne like it says it will, cystic acne included. Made skin very soft to the touch. Very affordable (check online where you can order it for less than $10/tube). Cons: It is extremely drying to the skin (that is how it works). I have sensitive skin, and as a result I had an allergic reaction which spread down my neck over a couple days. My GP said that very fair-skinned people need to be especially careful. Bottom Line: If you're fair-skinned, consult your GP first. Do a test patch for a couple days (I did but only for one day, and that was not enough time to predict the allergic reaction). Start with the lowest concentration (2.5%) since even 5% (which is what the pharmacist recommended to me) is very strong, even when distilled in an aqueous gel. It absolutely works, the question is whether or not your skin can tolerate the abrasive nature of the gel. Use a high quality hypo-allergenic moisturizer to help with flaking. Be prepared to feel as though you have a slight sunburn (slightly red, tight-feeling skin). If you have sensitive skin, this is not the solution for you. Pros: Scars peeled, soft matte skin, induced redness. Cons: n/a Bottom Line: This product is magic! After a week of using Salicylic Acid, I was fed up because it took a long time to see improvement. So I decided to switch to Benzoyl Peroxide and I must say, this is one of the best over-the-counter products I've used. After one treatment, Benzoyl Peroxide gave me a smooth skin, induced redness and it peeled my scars off! It peeled about 70% of my dark spots off! No kidding! I was using Galderma Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% if you must know :) Recommended: Yes Usage: Elle has used this item for a day or two. Pros: It prevents new breakouts from forming. Cons: It drys out your skin a little. I put it on only patches of my skin. A patch of my forehead was really well but throughout the day that faded away. The rest of my skin was my regular tone (fair/porcelain). Bottom Line: It works okay. I have been on it for only a day but I can tell that overtime it will probably work. I was prescribed it from just a regualr doctor not a DERMATOLOGIST. I made a derm appointment. I want to request duac but idk how that works. What do you guys think? Please reply back to me. Pros: It calmed down my spots well, i get far less big inflamed spots Cons: My face gets quite red and stingy it reccommends twice daily use NO!!! this just made my face dry out, meaning i couldnt use it anymore so when my skin was recovering i got some whoppers Bottom Line: Go for it, but id say just at night, and using an antibiotic too is always a good thing. And dont put it on areas where you dont have spots because you will get unwanted dryness i got it free through the National Health service Recommended: Yes Usage: Reviewer has used this item for a few months. Pros: I couldn't think of one good thing about this medication. Cons: I put it on in the evening and in the morning I broke out in an extememly itchy rash.
