Pros: None Cons: Everything Bottom Line: I have medium back acne that i developed about 5 years ago when I was 20. I used 4% benzoyl peroxide for 2 months 2 times a day. It did absolutely nothing other than bleach my shirts. No redness no drying no nothing... Sounds absurd but is true. Recommended: No Usage: Reviewer has used this item for a few months. Pros: Did a fairly good job of clearing pimples. Cons: Severe allergic reaction after a week. Bottom Line: Product did well for a week or so then I appeared to have a puffy eyelid. Tried treating it with cortesone topical lotion but ended up at the doctors to treat severe reaction around eye (under) and everywhere I had applied the lotion. I now look like the loser in a boxing match, eyes swollen shut, top and bottom, red swollen cheeks, and lots of itching. Recommended: No Usage: Mike has used this item for about a week. Pros: Worked for a time Cons: I developed an allergy to benzoyl peroxide - I would break out in large red hives all over my face. As many of you know this is a main ingredient in many acne treatments thus making it even harder to use anything. Bottom Line: I started using this around when i was around 14 yrs old. It worked for quite a while. Maybe a few months to a year after I started using it, it stopped working - I might as well have been putting water on my face. Then one day in gym my face was covered in red hives. I used it again and the had the same reaction. Now as a 21 yr old I am extremely limited in my topical acne solutions. If it works for you great! But if you notice it stops working, be careful. Has anyone else developed an allergy to benzoyl peroxide? Recommended: Yes Usage: need2Bacnefree has used this item for a few months. Pros: This product works for me if follow the regimen Cons: does dry skin moisturising essential can make skin red Bottom Line: i have suffered with acne for 10 years have had every antibiotic & cream available minocin worked for many years but as with all antibiotics my body has become ammune to them. i have been on the regimen for 8 weeks now & it is very rare i get a spot now as long as i follow the regimen religiously it works great. It does dry the skin but who cares as long as there are no spots!!!!!!! if i get very dry which can happen sometimes i just put less on for a couple of days & moisturise more.My skin can also go very red still better than spots. Pros: Pretty cheap Cons: Did nothing for me but dry and irritate my skin Bottom Line: It's a worth a try, just try everything until it goes away is my motto. Pros: It treats current breakouts. Cons: It doesn't prevent breakouts, dries skin, and can bleach skin/clothes Bottom Line: I was using Differin at night,Benzaclin in the morning & taking Doxycyclyne once daily. I had great results right away & my face cleared up in 1-2 months. I took the antibiotics for bout 2 months but I am still using Benzaclin & Differin on a regular basis. Pros: works to prevent acne, helps get rid of acne. Cons: It can be very drying, Doesn't work for me as soon as I'd like. Will make acne worse before it gets better. Bottom Line: I use it in an attempt to get rid of the little whitehead bumps i have all over my forehead, it definitely cleared a lot of them up but the ones that are left ( still many) are now bigger and more noticeable. i'm told that this is normal when treating acne, for it to get worse before it gets better, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. Pros: might work for you Cons: didn't for me Bottom Line: basically i think everyone who first has acne when there about 13 and it isn't awful yet but starting to get bad is told that a doctor can help they are prescribed this but the aren't consistent but on too much or too little and don't understand their face well enough yet I wouldn't try it again simply because you need confidence in your medication for it too work I believe however if i had used this properly at the age of 13 i wouldn't have such a problem now It took me up till about 7 months ago to get the confidence to go back to a doctor and guess what they can help...
