There are many difference strengths of BP out there...
in Canada, the strongest you can get at the drug store is 5%.
Anything stronger than 5%...like Benzamycin gel or
Solugel 8 will require getting a doctors prescription.
I take a few trips to the USA every year, and when I am
down there I stock up on either Zapzyt 10% and or
Clean & Clear Persagel 10%. I loooooove this stuff!
It is never more than $4.97 a container...NO PRESCRIPTION
needed. In my opinion these drug store brands are
cheaper and work way better than BP you doctor gives you.
(cheapest at Wal-Mart)
10% is strong...especially with someone with sensitive skin...
but this stuff has helped with cystic type acne...spot treatments,
and over all oily skin.

I just have to say that BP is one the one thing that has really cured me. I am a person who has tried basically everything. I have tried Proactiv, Tazorac and old family folk remedies but nothing seemed to work until one day i found this site and decided to try the benzoyle peroxide 2.5%. After the first week everyone was complementing my skin. After the second week it got clearer. The third week i could finally speak to someone one without having to put my head down.Right now mostly all of my acne and scars are gone i just have about 3 pimples and let me just say they are on there way to dieing out.
One of the most important things you can do is watch the video from this web site and apply the BP very generously through out your entire skin. One soap bar that i really reccomend will have to be Basis, this soap is the best. Bottom line, just have confidence and patience and you will be looking great in no time!!!!

It works; but mainly on epidermic damage.
Prick cysts/deep pustules all over and then apply BP (try to demarcate them as well by massaging the nearby (towards the cyst/pustule) skin; it works on deeper lesions too, then.

I am using 5% Bp called Quinoderm which is available by prescription or OTC. I wash my face with Asda/Walmart Clearoderm exfoliating face wash and moisturise with Asda/Walmart Clearoderm oil control moisturiser. My face is clear 99.9% of the time and I rarely get one or two small pimples. If I did not use Bp I get cystic acne and my face becomes a huge mess. However I hate how Bp wreaks all my clothes, dyes all my clothes pink! I wish there was an alternative that was as effective as Bp.

i've been trying dan's 2.5% bp gel after using prescription 5% and it dried out my skin too much. the 2.5% seems to be doing the same so i moisturize with vitamin e lotion for the flakiness and then i just break out again. ahhh! is there anything that really works?

does clear up skin, if you can put up with rank flakiness. try using a moisturising cleanser like Liz Earles hot cloth cleanser and then applying BP, no dryness at all then.

i'm currently using (PanOxyl 5%) i will still see how it would result to. In here, the BP 10% doesn't need a doctor's prescription. It's OTC. I really wish it would work.
know what??? I am happy that there is a forum like this. I thought I was the only one battling this disfiguring disease. It was nice to know I have allies as well.
God bless to all of you!!! Here's my e-mail: [email address removed].
