| Pros: | Makes skin not oily, clears and prevents acne fairly well |
| Cons: | drys out skin, bleaches clothes, towels, and hair |
| Bottom Line: | Besides the fact that it bleaches everything I really like this products. It is very good for oily skin and works pretty well on acne. If you use this I recommend using only white towels and making sure it does not get in your hair. |

| Pros: | Improves acne only slightly |
| Cons: | Redness, Dryness |
| Bottom Line: | I find that my skin is kind of pink the next day after I use it. It also has not prevented acne at all, only made breakouts less severe. It will make pimples go away in time, but wont necessarily keep your skin from breaking out more. Nonetheless, it has worked better than other acne medications I've used before so I would recommend it. |

| Pros: | Works well if you're persistent and vigilant. you can wash your face with brevoxyl and apply dan's gel afterwards. |
| Cons: | Dryness |
| Bottom Line: | I have used Dan's BP regimen, as well as proactive, acne free, brevoxyl, duac, and others. In terms of effectiveness, i would recommend either brevoxyl or dan's bp regimen (the gel laced with BP, that is).
brevoxyl does give you a clean feeling after you use it (the feeling is equivalent to the one i get after i use noxema or clearsil cleanser) and i think it's very effective in killing p. acne. however, it leaves you extremely dry afterwards, so you would have to use a very good moisturizer and lots of it.
i recommend dan's gel because one in my opinion you do need to have a good amount of BP on your skin at all times to fight the bacteria and two dan's gel disappears right into your skin and becomes invisible unlike other bp creams.
however, brevoxyl is expensive and you would need to get multipe dan's gel to make the shipping cost-effective. coupon for brevoxyl (and other stiefel products) is available at [link removed] |

| Pros: | helps prevent acne due to period (hormonal acne) |
| Cons: | slight dryness |
| Bottom Line: | I breakout before my period. About 1 week before my period begins, I wash my face twice daily with medicated apricot scrub, then apply it to my face, especially the problem areas(mostly around chin, and jaw line, and tops of cheeks) even if there is no pimple yet. I find that this prevents them from forming at all! YAY! |

| Pros: | Improved my skin slightly, easy to use |
| Cons: | Bleaches other stuff or dries skin, can leave white residue, didn't make a significant difference |
| Bottom Line: | This worked for me a little bit in the early days of my acne. In combination with Vitamin B5, my acne improved from bad to moderate. Since then I have found it to be less effective though, both the 2.5% and the 10%, and it also isn't good for my skin which is dry anyway. Definitely worth a try though. |

| Pros: | 10% percent Benzoyl Peroxide Works WONDERS! |
| Cons: | May cause redness, dryness, and may make pimples worse before they get better. |
| Bottom Line: | Let me tell you, 10 % BP works dramatically. I have cystic acne, and Accutane is my last option, but no, to risky. I'm currently using the Acne Free terminator 10 from University Medical (you can find it at drug/retail stores) after I wash my face with cetaphil I apply it twice a day. It contains 10% BP and I see a huge difference. I've tried antibiotics and other prescriptions like crazy, and have been on the "right acne medication" hunt for a long time, and I think this is the one. Everyone has been telling me, my skin cleared up in some spots dramatically. It works WONDERS! |

| Pros: | Cheap, many strengths to choose from |
| Cons: | Ruins/bleaches everything it touches! |
| Bottom Line: | I tried for years to use this carefully but ended up having it bleach everything from my underwear to towels to shirts to pjs to towels. I used wipes, cleansers, gels, creams, etc and none of them were safe. But I have tough skin and it never irritated me or helped my acne significantly either. |

| Pros: | I bought most expensive bottle of Benzoyl Peroxide i could find and within a week my face was completely free of zits. |
| Cons: | makes my face look like I was in a tanning bed for an entire day it was horrendous looking. Also fades clothing. |
| Bottom Line: | It came in a small, black tube. I wish i could remember what it was called because it seems that none of the others work. Don't buy the walmart brand it is complete garbage. If you try one brand and it doesn't work try another brand because some brands are useless. I put way more on that was recommended the first time. And after it cleared up I put on so little its not noticeable every day. |

| Pros: | Cleared up acne in less than a week!!! Use Dan's benzoyl peroxide gel. You get a huge bottle for only $12 (it'll last a long time). |
| Cons: | Dryness, redness. But better than a face full of acne!! |
| Bottom Line: | I have used Dan's benzoyl peroxide for less than 1 week, and my acne is almost fully cleared up (only 2 teeny tiny ones left). I use it AM & PM. First I wash my face with Basis Sensitive Skin bar soap ($3). Then I use witch hazel ($2.50) as a toner to prepare my skin for the BP gel. Then apply the BP. Once it's completely dry, I use 100% Aloe Vera Gel (only $2.12 for a HUGE bottle). I have tried tons of prescription creams, antiobiotics, and this is the best so far. I also take a multi-vitamin in the morning which may be helping too. I would totally recommend trying it. I am told the redness/dryness will subside over the next week or so. Trust me, a little dry skin for a couple of weeks is worth it to me!! |
