i've been trying dan's 2.5% bp gel after using prescription 5% and it dried out my skin too much. the 2.5% seems to be doing the same so i moisturize with vitamin e lotion for the flakiness and then i just break out again. ahhh! is there anything that really works?

does clear up skin, if you can put up with rank flakiness. try using a moisturising cleanser like Liz Earles hot cloth cleanser and then applying BP, no dryness at all then.

brevoxyl is working for me it takes time though, it does help!

Well not sure its fair for me to comment have only been dabbing it on some of my bigger spots but it seems to be drying them out, only used for 2 days thou now so will comment again in a couple of weeks!x

I used Glytone benzoyl peroxide 10% cream/gel. i used it for 2 weeks straight like the derm. said but honestly, it didnt clear my face up, and i've been told that if you try anything, try this because it works.

but it didnt.

i dont even have severe acne just a fair amount and it didnt work at all. however i got no side effects or flaking or burning, just felt dry but thats expected,

proactiv is the best acne treatment ever. i just wished they sell it more here bec. the shop that used to sell it doesn't anymore...

I have literally tried everything with the exception of Accutane, (not willing to risk the side effects). A lot of different products contain BP, but my suggestion is to go the dermatologist and get them to prescribe you something with BP in it. I tried proactive - it was horrible! But I have a compound from the Dermatologist and it is wonderful, after 2 weeks on it everyone around me was saying how great my skin looked. Had some dryness and flaking at first but now my skin is used to it and those side effects are gone. Stick with it and above all be patient and use it religiously!

Neotrogena Clay Mask was brilliant - but they've stopped making it!!! BP really works.

second most effective acne treatment that i have found....doesnt work as well as accutane, but also doesnt come with all the possible side effects. ive tried almost every acne product there is, and a 2.5% bp gel is the best thing for my skin. im in my 20s and dont have severe acne ne more, as i did when i was in high school and used accutane. if u have mild acne, try benzoyl peroxide, it might cause some dryness, but it cleared up my skin very well and very fast. if you have severe acne, try accutane, its probably the only thing that works on really bad skin.
