I love baking soda. I've been getting bumps on my forehead which are not exactly pimples, but bumps....and I've been constantly using BZ on it...it wasn't really working effectively. I started using baking soda, and Voila! bumps no more. I try not to use it too often b/c I'm hoping that these bumps will go away naturally.

For those with sensitive skin, this is the ONLY type of scrub you should use on your face. It's extremely gentle but really works and is and important thing to use for those with oily but sensitive skin like mine. Make sure to be very gentle when using and don't scrub or leave on for too long. Put a small amount of water mixed with bs and your face will be smooth and glowing!

I learned about this exfoliator from Paula Begoun -- [link removed] -- and I use it about 3 times per week mixed with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. Works really well, doesn't smell, and is inexpensive! It's important to be GENTLE!!!

Baking Soda is AWESOME! I have struggled with Acne for many years. I've always used a benzoyl peroxide cream in conjunction with some type of cleanser (usually something salicylic acid) and that's always worked failry well. A coworker told me that a celebrity washes her face with only baking soda and it keeps her skin clean, smooth and pimple free. For 50 cents a box I said what the heck. All my blackheads are going away, my skin is SMOOTH AND it removes makeup from my face better than expensive over the counter face washes. I even used rubbing alcohol after washing makeup off with baking soda and the cotton ball revealed my skin was clean and makeup free.

The good news is that this clears whiteheads and blackheads extemely well. However, I have an area of skin below my lower lip that is very sensitive. It burned incredibly when I put the baking soda solution on that area. That area was burnt red for a while. The caveat when using this is that it will probably burn a little but excessive burning means that it is damaging the skin in a sensitive area. So I use a cleanser on my sensitive skin area and baking soda everywhere else. Works like a charm.

I read about this first on acne.org and tried it because of all the rave and hype it was getting. SO GLAD I DID! Baking soda mixed with your favorite cleanser feels so great on your skin. And skin is so smooth after washing it off. My skin did get a little red afterwards, but the redness went away. Definitely something worth trying.
