| Pros | Super inexpensive, works like a charm, is completely natural to use, no harsh chemicals, can be found in any store, has multiple uses around the house, has a ton of other beauty uses, its been around for years |
|---|---|
| Cons | Ok, yes it does burn a little...and may cause slight redness. Both are only temporary. |
| Bottom line | I must say I have been using baking soda for quite some time, before even discovering this page. It works like nothing I have seen before, honestly. I used it already as a tooth paste, antacid and for my hair...once I discovered you could use it on your face I jumped for joy. Its the best product to use IMO. Plus there isnt anyone lieng about it on TV. Every person here minus 2 or 3 has loved it as well, that should say enough. HOWEVER!! Do not use it as a mask!! Its not intended as a mask! Its intended as an exfoliator only. Ive been reading a lot of people here using it as a mask and those are the same people that have had bad results. Also, mix it with water!! Im going to try the peroxide though now that Ive read about it, but i KNOW lemon juice should be a NO NO, its an acidic irritant and not smart to use on already irritated skin. Worried about the real cost? It only costs a dollar at the 99 cent store and lasts for months. :) Good Luck!! |

| Pros | It is cheap. It makes your skin feel smooth. |
|---|---|
| Cons | I may have developed allergic reaction to this product. I have more breakouts. |
| Bottom line | It is still worth to try since it is very cheap. It is suppose to be great for acne, acne scars, bleach and a lot of other purposes. |

| Pros | -very cheap -natural home remedy |
|---|---|
| Cons | - not very effective - can irritate skin and shouldn't be used on a regular basis if you have sensitive skin |
| Bottom line | Sometimes it worked. Mainly good for blackheads and exfoliating on my nose. On my pimply parts of my face, it didn't work good and sometimes made it red or worse. If you only have a zit or two and some blackheads, use. Not for sensitive skin. |

| Pros | it works really well |
|---|---|
| Cons | it stinks like crazy lol |
| Bottom line | i did was take baking soda mix it with water and stir with my fingers. After 40 seconds i would dip my finger and rub it on my face in a circular motion. After that i would take benoxyl cream and rub it the same way like i did with the baking soda. Leave it on for the night then in the morning i would wash my face. |

| Pros | works great to get rid of dead skin, i just mix it with my cleanser and it works great |
|---|---|
| Cons | none that i know of; may be a tad irritating for those with extremely, super sensitive skin. |
| Bottom line | gets rid of all the dead skin and is a great exfoliant. it has cleared up about almost all my acne and ive only been using it for about a week and a half. i rub it on my face for like 30 seconds with the cleanser and then just rinse it off. i highly recommend this. its really cheap too |

| Pros | It works. |
|---|---|
| Cons | None. |
| Bottom line | I agree, it works. It's great. I didn't like the idea of using any kind of peroxide (can bleach clothing and sheets). All you really need is some type of liquid antiseptic with it and Isopropyl Alcohol 70% or greater strength is fine. Make a paste of this and the baking soda...I apply only to my very small spots at night and sleep with it on (colored sheets/no bleaching effect)...wake in the morning, it washes off in my morning shower. Then use Daniel Kern gentle cleanser and moisturizer and as little make up (foundation) as possible. Now that my skin is nearly clear, I'm choosing to even go without the "crutch" called foundation make-up. Doesn't matter what is causing the acne. Point is, you may never know what is causing your acne - but this clears it up / takes a few days for some tougher areas, but catch those uh-oh-red marks that you KNOW are going to turn into acne right away and that zit will never see the light of day. Wonderful. Wish I knew of this 30 years ago. |

| Pros | Leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and it doesn't require like a million different products. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Stung a little at first but that has stopped |
| Bottom line | Try it if you don't like it you lost 1 to 2 dollars big whoop. It has stopped any new acne from forming so I love it. Also works as a teeth whitener but it tastes really bad. used for 4 days. |
