| Pros | smooths and softens skin exfoliates clears up acne |
|---|---|
| Cons | your skin might be dry afterwards |
| Bottom line | I use baking soda about 3 or 4 times a week. It usually leaves my skin really dry afterward but i follow up with a nice skin moisturizer and the moisturizer soaks right in to my skin. It wont stay on the surface and i dont sweat it out, because of the baking soda. My skin is alway clear and pimple/ breakout free now [except for that time of the month (lol sry)]. So i highly suggest it! Its all natrual!! |

| Pros | It works to exfoliate & soften It is really cheap Natural-no harsh chemicals |
|---|---|
| Cons | None I can think of |
| Bottom line | Baking soda is great to exfoliate n soften your skin. I feel like it helps to keep my acne away and helps it heal faster when I do get breakouts. You can make a paste with peroxide or vinegar to deep clean your pores- I wouldn't do it every day tho-every other day or a few times a week is best for me. |

| Pros | It works great! I have been using it for about 4 days and have seen a real difference. The acne that I had is slowly fading away, and no new pimples have appeared. |
|---|---|
| Cons | It burns more than a little bit when it's on, and dries out skin. |
| Bottom line | This works great. I am very happy with it. Works better than programs I have tried. Thanks. |

| Pros | Everything. It's cheap and effective. |
|---|---|
| Bottom line | Baking soda, in a somewhat expected fit of irony, works better than any product I've ever used. I'm currently 22 and I started developing acne when I was 15. Since then it's been a battle waged with medications, abrasive pads, and Proactive. Finally I said "what the hell. Baking soda it is." Despite my sensitive skin its worked fantastically. When I started using it I had a few large lesions on my face and a number of small red bumps from shaving and so on. After a week of using a mixture of backing soda, water, and a mild, oil free lotion (which isn't actually necessary, but it helps with overall skin health) my acne has almost cleared completely. At first my skin became inflamed and irritated, but only the first day or two. Then it just started to disappear. No more red bumps, no more pimples or lesions. My skin looks like it did when I was 14. The main thing is to stick with it even if it looks worse at first. Just rub it on in the morning, let it dry, wash it off and Presto! |

| Pros | ery affordable and decreases redness. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Meh couldnt think of many. |
| Bottom line | In all seriousness, I have tried Proactiv with horrible results, actually making my skin tone worse and caused cystic pimples in areas I have never had them before. I'e used many OTC cleaners, redness reducers, overnight gels, creams, in otherwords tried everything to help my once clear skin. I tried a different route this time and went natural. Baking powder completely diminished all the redness from previous irritation as well as made the pimples I had smaller. I dab a little hydrogen peroxide on my face in addition to the baking powder over the pimples before i go to bed. I have seen immense results. Its unbelievable I Have spent hundreds of dollars on products when the one that really worked was 1.00 at shaws. I have also found that steaming my face once a day helps my skin tone and reduces the size of pores. |

| Pros | clean smooth complexion :) |
|---|---|
| Cons | slight burning/redness (both temporary) |
| Bottom line | be careful not to use too much, and DO NOT use baking soda as a mask. instead use it as an exfoliant couple times a week and/or a spot treatment rather than on your whole face. it is a poweful cleaning agent , so dissolves dirt and oils. shrinks and dries blemishes. |

| Pros | Works very well and quickly. Fades marks and leaves skin smooth. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Do not rub too hard. I have a tendency to really scrub because I'm a guy and thats what we do to be clean. Crucial not to scrub hard but gently. Scrubbing hard made marks worse. |
| Bottom line | Can't believe my marks would have started clearing so quickly if I just used this baking soda. It has been a week and it looks way better. I'm using cetaphil moisturizer and neutrogena razor defense in the morning. Baking soda in the evening. Btw, I'm Indian with a pale skin complexion so marks show much more. |
