| Pros | natural, cheap alternative to other products, clean, fresh-feeling, seems to have dried out zits, effective exfoliant |
|---|---|
| Cons | strange looks from your roommate? |
| Bottom line | I started using baking soda as my daily cleanser about a week ago. Many of my zits have dried out, though I'm still unsure if it's just my own hormones or if it's actually working. My face seems brighter, and it's easier to put on my make-up, which is a plus! It leaves my face feeling fresh, and it's definitely the most effective exfoliant I've used (& I'm a St. Ives Apricot Scrub fan!). It's also super cheap and all natural, |

| Pros | Clears skin up a bit No harsh fragances Doesn't clog pores Oil-free Cheap |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can be a little too harsh, leaving skin red You need quite a lot of it |
| Bottom line | For about a week I had gone on vacation to the beach and brought along a box of baking soda, a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, and some cotton balls. I am not sure if the salt water and sunshine helped as well, but after exfoliating my face with baking soda and applying hydrogen peroxide twice a day for a week my acne went from moderately light to very light. I would not call it a cure, though - the results were not amazing, and my skin had a "flushed" look. For a quick fix, baking soda is pretty good. |

| Pros | Seriously? Absolutely nothing. |

| Cons | Made my acne WORSE. Like, really bad. My face burned! My sensitive skin was itchy and scratchy and rough! I had "very light" skin, and THIS stuff made me "moderate" overnight! |

| Pros | Cheap Fast Acting Easy to Use Shows Results Not Full of Chemicals |
|---|---|
| Cons | Messy if making a mask- dries quickly and flakes |
| Bottom line | This is the best thing I have used by far for my acne! I suffer from acne on my face, back, and chest. Im 18 and it has been 4 years now that I have been looking for something to control my breakouts as it keeps me from going out to the beach and wearing things I want to. I used Baking Soda for the first time today and I am already seeing results! For the first time in many years it is clearing up on my chest and shoulders, fast! I highly recommend this, you have nothing to lose. I scrubbed my face with Baking Soda and water, left it on for about 10 minutes, washed it off, and applied fresh squeezed lemon juice. Working very well so far! |

| Pros | leaves skin feeling clean and soft not expensive |
|---|---|
| Cons | can sting in the beginning, especially if you have just started using BP or other topical acne treatments, but this will get better after a few weeks! |
| Bottom line | I use baking soda after cleansing as an "extra cleanse" and exfoliator. It leaves you skin feeling really soft and clean which is why I like it so much! I don't know if this has helped greatly to reduce pimples because I started using it when I started applying ACV and lemon juice as toners... So I am not sure which product is mostly responsible for the improvement...Probably a combination of these 3 that helped my acne clear up this much. I still use it twice a day and I just love it :) |
