| Pros | it has helped my pimples somewhat |
|---|---|
| Cons | dries face extremely dry and sorta stings |
| Bottom line | now, i know for SURE that i don't have sensitive skin, and usually my face is somewhat oily. after using baking soda for about two weeks, my face has become EXTREMELY dry. it looks like it's peeling and is very flaky. also, when i just exforliate my face with baking soda, it stings somewhat. however, the baking soda does look like it's been helping my face a little. probably about half of my pimples are gone and it's barely been two weeks. |

| Pros | Helps treat the acne better than any other products that I have ever used. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Dries out the face> |
| Bottom line | I didn't know that you could use it as a scrub but I tried it and It worked. Even though it dries out my skin. So I use a gentle lotion. Hope it works for you! |

| Pros | Clears up blackheads |
|---|---|
| Bottom line | I used baking soda for the past 2 nights and I have already seen a huge difference in the appearance on my skin. and my blackheads and almost completely gone. I just mixed baking soda with water to form a paste, put this on my nose and chin (areas with blackheads) and then let it sit for 2-3 mins, then I got a bit more and used it as a gentle scrub on my entire face. I then used my regular face wash both last night and tonight. I noticed a difference last night, but I just did it and my nose and chin look completely clear! |

| Pros | It smoothens out your skin, minimizes your pores, helps your pores heal faster, somewhat evens out your skin tone and overall makes you feel better about yourself. (This description is built from the benefits I've seen about my own face. Not smel |
|---|---|
| Cons | Could give you a bit of a frosty cold kind of sensation It will dry out your skin a little and after you use the blend as a kind of mask/scrub you can see a bits and pieces of your skin will peel Lightens your skin (or however you look at it) |
| Bottom line | It has worked the best out of the other treatments I've tried, even recommended dermatologist treatments and products (which smelt). I've tried benzoyl peroxide (it made my face red, and caused pimples at other places so it was like healing some pimples while causing other pimples in other places... yeah.) No lies. I've tried salicylic acid as well. It had not really help either. It made my pimples a lot bigger than usual. Another advantage I've found in baking soda mixed with water once a night is the fact that it had not caused a 'worse before it gets better' effect, not involving with the acne at least. It is also cheaper than most of the treatments that you'll find. Give this a try. :) |

| Pros | Cheap, natural, works like a gem :) |
|---|---|
| Cons | Burns on sensitive spots if used for longer |
| Bottom line | I didn't know that baking soda couldn't be used as a mask, but when I did, it wasn't too bad. I have quite sensitive skin, but I left it on for ten minutes and only nose became irritated. I didn't spot an immediate different, but no treatment does. (I just added some water to baking soda to make a paste.) After that, I made a less watery paste and applied it on this double whammy of a pimple (it's disgusting, not really a whitehead, but this huge bump...) It drops all over your pillow, but you can't really tell. Just rinse your hair and you'll be fine. The next morning, my blackheads are clear (probably because I cleaned the stuff out of it and burned the heck out of my nose) and that big zit of death has toned down and the top layers of sebum are gone, so it's just a plain ol' whitehead now. |

| Pros | It is dirt cheap and it leaves your skin refreshed! |
|---|---|
| Cons | It is a bit overdrying but only if you leave it on for more than 5 min. |
| Bottom line | I never knew something I had in my fridge to keep it smelling clean would help my really BAD acne. It has no side effects what so ever and it even helps with evening out my skin tone. Also, if you have back acne, it works just as good. You just have to make it pastier in the shower and leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes. You will notice a diff in about a week or so. LOVE this stuff.....who knew?! |

| Pros | Works VERY well |
|---|---|
| Cons | Feels a bit uncomfortable and dry when applied |
| Bottom line | I have had bad acne for about 3 years now and I have used HEAPS of products which never worked, but when I tried applying baking soda with water on my face I noticed a HUGE difference in my face just after one application. I still had pimples on my face ofcourse but the redness had almost disappeared and scarring from previous pimples had almost vanished just after trying it once! Though it did feel dry and uncomfortable, I am so happy with the results but then again I have only used it for a couple of days so I don't know whats going to happen but I reccomend it to people who have acne. |

| Pros | Satisfies my urge to scrub without hurting me; does a good job of removing dead skin and reducing pore size. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can sometimes refuse to rinse off from around my nose and eyes. Difficult to keep nearby/use in the shower without eventual clumping. Definitely demands that you balance your PH, ASAP afterwards! |
| Bottom line | Gentlest exfoliating scrub ever, and cheaper than dirt. It's nice not to have to buy another cosmetic product. |
