I actually discovered baking soda on my own. I decided to try and use it as an exfoliant. I had paid $55 for the MaryKay microderm abrasion and was running out. I was dreading shelling out the money again. I knew there HAD to be something natural out there for much cheaper. Lo and Behold I found it! Baking soda face scrub/mask. Works wonders on my skin. It is so soft and followed up with the Vinegar Toner, my skin is positively glowing!

Ok, I knew some people would use baking soda to treat pimples, but did you know you can use it as an exfoliant? For instance, many people use St. Eves apricot scrub, but that product is way to harsh for delicate skin (and even more for acne prone skin!!)
So you can make your own scrub using just baking soda and water. Just take about 2 tablespoons of baking soda (or less) and put some water on it (try to get the consistency of brown sugar) then you rub it very gently all around your face. VERY GENTLY. As you might know you're getting rid of dead cells, so don't spect to get rid of the pimple you already have. What you'll be doing is preventing new ones from appearing by exfoliating and removing dull, dead skin cells thus reducing the amount of elements that form them in first place.
You can also use, instead of water, your favorite cleanser to make the exfoliant paste (I prefer this option)
And as any other exfoliant you might want to do this about 2 times a week or 1 if you have sensitive skin. Also after you use this treatment your skin will feel SO SOFT BUT you have to mosturize. That is a must!!

I am just putting this stuff on my face know i am 12 and i have just started to get pimples. i have many on my forhead and chin. The mixuture of baking soda and waer was so amazing and worked wonders on my skin. I have extermly sensitive skin and the only part that was a bit uncomertabul was the sting in the begining. But it is worth it. I would rather have the sting than this pimple... his name is bob. Well it works... trust me

Singed,

I've had really bad acne for about 8 years, been on every prescription topical drug (retin A, benzomycin, differin etc etc etc), gone through 2 cycles of accutane (it has the worst side effects ever and didn't even work for me), tried various brands of birth control, done the harsh antibiotics and have never really found anything that helped.......... until baking soda. i swear by it. honestly , if i dont use it for a while i notice a very significant difference in my acne. ALSO try baking soda in hot water for sore throat, it's AMAZING... and also for heartburn/indigestion... the reason it works so well on throat and heartburn is because it changes the pH in that area becaue baking soda is a base........ honestly this is the best thing ever. also great for teeth whitening, bad breath, and bad smells e.g. in the refrigerator, just put a little bowl of baking soda in there or wherever.

I too have tried every cosmetic product; Clinique was one of my favorit until I bought a box of baking soda and read the label; good for the face, bath etc. This product has worked tremendously with my skin type. It has also help with whitening of my teeth (I tried this seeing that most tooth paste consist of baking soda) This was a well hidden secret until now. I am so surprised to hear the numerous reports. I am a Banking Soda user ... for life!
