Pros Really clears up skin quickly
Cons Slightly messy to apply; dries out skin a little (but moisturizer fixes it)
Bottom line I use baking soda mixed with water as a scrub daily and the difference in my skin is amazing. It's really reduced the number of pimples I see - it even reduced the number during my monthly period-related breakout, which is nothing short of miraculous. It doesn't get rid of every single pimple, so I'm combining it with a tea tree oil gel which I spot treat with.

Pros Easy to make and very cheap.
Cons None.
Bottom line This stuff is great although its not like a miracle. I've been using it for about a week and it has dried up a lot of the old ones and i think its preventing some of the new ones but not sure yet.

Pros Works fast, exfoliates, keeps skin soft and toned.
Cons Slite burning at first around the nose; if used everyday, severe burning around the nose.
Bottom line I use baking soda every Thursday after I wash my face as an exfoliater. When I first started, I would use it every day and it made my skin very, very dry and sensitive. It also gave my skin around my nose a severe burning and stinging feeling, so I started using it once a week. (Which just so happened to be Thursdays...) Anyway, if I also have like, one or two pimples, I mix it with water and put in on the pimple(s) and it goes away!

Pros Cheap, a million uses, you probably have it in your kitchen somewhere
Cons None for me.
Bottom line The baking soda mask destroys whiteheads. If I get an outbreak of whiteheads, I'll mix baking soda and water, apply the paste to my face, and leave it on until the mask dries. I'll do this for three days and by the third day, the whiteheads are gone.

The mask greatly reduces whiteheads.

Pros It works very fast in clearing both white and blackheads and it is very cost efficient.
Cons None other than a slight burning sensation on the first and second use.
Bottom line I have tried absolutely everything to get rid of my acne. I've had it for about 4 years, and wasted so much time and money on products that didn't work. Who would've known the answer to all of my acne problems was right in my kitchen pantry?! I've only been using the baking soda mask for a few days, and I am already noticing results. From the looks of it, it will only go uphill and I'm so excited to finally get rid of my acne! DEFINATELY worth a try!

Pros Noticeably soft skin, fewer breakouts
Cons none
Bottom line i have been applying a baking soda mask for 2 months now after reading about it on this site. i wanted to give the treatment time before reviewing it...and i must say...the mask is great!! i forgo the lemon juice, and instead just mix the baking soda with lukewarm water until it is at a paste consistency. i then pat, no rub, it onto my face. i leave it on until it dries completely, and then rinse off with cool water. i must say...my skin looks great, and the minimal acne that i had is has decreased to 1-2 pimples at best. i only use this treatment once a week, and follow it up with a toner containing salicylic acid. i use a daily oil free face moisturizer with spf 15. i would recommend this mask to anyone--and for those having irritability issues, i would skip the lemon juice, and just opt for the paste.

Pros -
Cons I made a baking soda/lemon juice paste and left it on my face overnight. I woke up the next day, and I now have hundreds of whiteheads (I usually get 1 zit at a time, so this is a nightmare!!!).
Bottom line I've researched on other sites, and you are never suppose to use this combination for more than 1 minute. So, I'm just writing this as warning, I'm sure the baking soda and the lemon juice work separately, but please avoid using this combination overnight!!! hopefully all these whiteheads will disappear SOON.
