If you combine baking soda with a mask (one made of natural ingredients instead of a bunch of chemicals) and then put it on your trouble areas or individual acne, you can see it start to minimalize withing a few hours. It worked for me, and I've tried anything that doesn't require a precsription.

Loved the baking soda, I put a few tablespoons in a bowl then mixed it with some water. Then I began to rub it into my face and I realised what everyone was talkinga bout it being a exfoliating scrub. Wasn't as worst as some other scrubs I used since I have Chronic severe acne. I havent had any initial breakouts after my first time using it and now I am adding this to a weekly schedule. Ill do it 2 times a week and see what happens from there. I noticed I got reduced oil and redness.

I went to a spa for my first a month ago and had a "European deep pore facial" I ask the nurse what product using on my face she said "instead of just squeezing your bumps I make a paste out of baking soda and combined with the hot towels it makes blackheads and whiteheads rise from deep under the pores & then astract (squeezes) all the nastiness from the pores add some toner and she was done. my skin has never looks so great even after a month so I know this works.

WOW! I was browsing this site yesterday afternoon and was all set to come out today, go to the drugstore, and spend a huge chunk of money on neutrogena products. Considering it's only a couple of weeks until school, money is usually going to clothing right now, so spending tons of money on stuff for my face, not knowing if it would work for *me* seemed stupid. And then I looked here =D
I made this into a paste mixing the baking soda with just plain water, and left it on for about five minutes. On some of my 'open wounds' (popped zits) it tingled slightly, but otherwise it was no problem, no flaking either. When I took it off with a damp face cloth my face was already looking a bit better by my mouth, not much of a difference on my forehead where the lurkers are.

I honestly had 20 lurkers (some red, some skin colored) and this morning I have only 8! And around my mouth the zits have gone down a huge amount, are alot less noticeable, and no longer hurt. It also made some of the previous (recent) zit marks fade slightly. I think by the time school comes I'll be nicely cleared! I'm going to use this to replace my step one of proactiv- their exfoliator is pretty rough and doesn't do anything. All that I used was the toning liquid and the lotion after this mask (this mask exfoliates gently when you take it off anyway). I've woken up to a smoother, softer, clearer face- and it isn't dry at ALL!

Has worked better than anything else I've tried so far. Seriously. And I have spent HOURS (make that days and days) searching the net, medical journals, you name it, for the best acne treatments. I have tried the most recommended of these. True I also use a BHA 2% solution, a tea tree oil wash and BP (only on existing spots). To be honest because this combination works I am to scared to drop any.... but I will get round to it one day so stay tuned. How evil are these cosmetics companies??? How hard is it to find accurate information?? Thank you so much for this site - it has been an absolute blessing.

The Baking Soda is better than most of the acne medicines i tryed on my face, but ive been using it for a month now and it helps but theres still acne near my cheeks and nose.Seems like everybody else thinks its great! but it really aint working for me.i leave the Baking Soda on for an hour and sometimes even longer and then when i wash it off my face feels smooth but the next day its bumpy again.Im still tryin it and im gonna see what happens.

i was very skeptical using "baking soda" a home cooking product on my face. but i gave it a try. the first time i used it, I kept it on for about a minute or so. it really did burn! then that night i mixed BP with BS and dabbed it on one of those really painful big zits that take forever to go away and the next morning it was all dried up and gone! i was so amazed!! i also had these very little bumps on my face but ever since using baking soda...hey have been smoothed out! which is crazy! worth a try buddies!

First time I used it, the baking soda mask stung like crazy, but after washing it off, I noticed that my face was smooth. When I woke up the next morning, lo and behold, facial redness had decreased, and some of my pimples had vanished/been greatly reduced overnight! Now I use the mask about 3 times a week to help exfoliate my face and reduce redness. Effective and cheap way to treat acne!
