Pros: Cheap! Cons: Abrasive, until you learn how to use it. Bottom Line: I wanted to update my reveiw. I' ve been using baking soda twice a day for 7 months now, my face is completely clear! Always! Pros: Gave my face a nice, soft texture. It instantly became smooth to touch Cons: Too harsh, broke me out severely Bottom Line: I tried this every night for 1 wk, and i used it as a mask, kept it on for 2/3 mins, till it dried and scrubed it off. I had a lovely texture but it made my acne inflammed & red!..I broke out on my chin for the first time in 24 yrs on earth. Recommended: No Usage: Abbey has used this item for about a week. Pros: it worked immediately for me!!! Cons: taste bad but its worth it...try mixing it with something like lemon water or just take it and get it over with :) Bottom Line: The promblem is my body is too acidic. So i figured to really get the acne to go away, i needed to take something to alkaline my body. I even prayed for the Lord the help me cause i have struggled for years with my skin. I started taking baking soda (1/4 of a teaspoon...i take a little more but i would start out with a fourth) every night and within 2 days my skin was almost completely healed and felt smoother than ever. Try it and if your pregnant or have high blood pressure than i would check with my doctor b/c of salt content. Recommended: Yes Usage: lindz has used this item for about a week. Pros: it makes you skin smooth as ever..and soft..makes ur complexion lighter. Cons: it tingles a little bit and dries quickly..and flakes wen its time to remove Bottom Line: wen you mix baking soda and water together..as a paste..about 3-4 times a week..it makes skin smooth and soft and turns your complexion lighter..wen it begins to flake and turn white..rinse wit warm water.. Pros: Helps reduce size and redness of cystic acne, leaves skin soft, makes skin matte looking, when applying makeup after using makeup stays on better and looks great Cons: Stings, taste horrible, can over dry, flakes off everywhere if you happen to move your face at all while it is on Bottom Line: I mix baking soda and a cheap sea salt (mortan's) into a thick paste and let it sit on my face for about 10-15 minutes. It really stings where the cysts are but everywhere else is ok. I rinse it off with warm water while rubbing it in a circular motion to scrub off any dead skin and once it is off my skin feels great! I have had cystic acne for years and have tried all kinds of topical medications (over-the-counter and prescribed) as well as numerous prescriptions including accutane and nothing has been this safe and effective! It helps with current flare ups as well as reducing the coloration of my scars. Give it a try, it will help. If your skin gets irritated make a thinner paste (more water) or if you feel it is not helping try a thicker paste (less water). Don't forget to use an oil free moisturizer after you remove the face, it can really really make your skin dry if you don't. Recommended: Yes Usage: Reviewer has used this item for about a month. Pros: It didn`t get rid of my pimples but it did reduce the sixe i used it everyday and it went away in about 2 weeks. Pros: it worked great on my skin, it even got rid of most of my blackheads!!! Cons: none for me :) Bottom Line: i heard that baking soda would help so i tried it out, within the first day of useing it, my skin looked healthier and i had a better complextion. It reduced my redness and the size of my pimples and my skin looked much better. The best thing is that it didnt even burn my skin or make it dry. i hope it continues to work for me. :) Recommended: Yes Usage: Dalton has used this item for a day or two.
