| Pros | •Makes skin smooth •Starts working immediately •Cheap & easy to apply |
|---|---|
| Cons | •Dries out skin |
| Bottom line | About a week ago, I had been over the top stressed. I started breaking out pretty bad and finally bought a box of baking soda. Ever since then, my skin has improved very much so! :D In the morning I wash my face with baking soda (with warm water to open the pores), and then I close my pores using lemon juice & a cottonball. If my skin is kind of dry, I put on a little moisturizer afterwards. Works like a charm! I recommend this to anyone who has pretty bad breakouts. I also use the baking soda on my body. Not really the lemon juice. Works just as well. Remember: you must be consistent! Good luck :) |

| Pros | -closest to an acne cure that I have found -cheap -very effective -amazing spot treatment |
|---|---|
| Cons | -can be messy |
| Bottom line | I was using Dan's regimen for a few months; I used the cetaphil wash, bp, and AHA. However, I still broke out. Yes, my acne was better, but it was not GONE. This was the little miracle that got my skin to be ACNE-FREE. After I rinsed my face with the cetaphil wash, I put the mask on and left it on for about two minutes, four-five days a week. The first time I tried it, I had 3 huge zits; by the third day of using the mask, two were gone, and the third was just a tiny little pink bump. I have never, ever seen this kind of result before, not from any product or any prescription. I wish I could have discovered this sooner, and I beg whoever reads this to PLEASE, PLEASE just try it for a week. It works wonders! I have sensitive/acne-prone skin, and this completely changed my face! |

| Pros | My skin was noticably softer It paled the acne It cleaned out my pores Most of the blackheads on my nose-they seem more brown than black- are gone You only have to mix water and baking soda from your fridge |
|---|---|
| Cons | It burned like h*** for a few minutes if you got it in any cuts or open scratchs or any openings in the skin It flakes off after a few minute just by the turn of the head or ANY movement of the head Doesn't have immediate results like promised |
| Bottom line | I would probably only recomend this to poeple with very light or light Acne or poeple with blackheads |

| Pros | smooth skin less redness fewer pimples and blackheads |
|---|---|
| Cons | can be messy can sting if applied to open wounds you CAN scrub too hard! |
| Bottom line | I have mild/moderate adult acne, as well as other complexion issues. This winter my skin started getting rough and dry patches, as well as many more pimples than before (before it was mainly blackheads) and it was very red in places as well. I started off with chemicals like proactive, and it was painful and made it worse. I moved on to organic stuff. the redness was better, but my face was still flaky. I heard about baking soda, and since I thought it would at least be a cheaper way to exfoliate since my organic frilly flax seed exfoliator was $16. I massaged a paste of baking soda with my finger tips. Immediatly, my skin was very soft and smooth. after just a few days it was much clearer. It has been a week and I don't think my skin has looked this good since before I became pregnant! (when my adult acne started.) I have been following my scrub with baking soda with 99% pure organic Aloe vera. This also has healing properties, and it moisturizes. Maybe it is the combo as well, I am not sure. I started the aloe earlier, and it became better when I switched to baking soda in combo. I am so happy! I can go places (comfortably) without make up now! *just to note, other people said it can sting, it has stung when I have open areas. Also, be careful to scrub gently!!! |

| Pros | cheap, household item, makes skin soft, dries other pimples. |
|---|---|
| Cons | tatstes SALTY. |
| Bottom line | I just started using the baking soda mixed with water making a paste two times a day about two days ago. I started using the baking soda to get rid of my very dark acne scars. They have not faded but my skin feels alot softer. Some acne bumps have gone down. I had so many blackheads on my nose and already I see them clearing. I think thats pretty good for just using this for 2 days. After two weeks or so i will report back. |

| Pros | Cheap Very effective leaves skin soft doesn't dry skin |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can sting if skin is very irritated |
| Bottom line | About 3 months ago I started to breakout around my nose and it spread to my chin. I tried many different products even cortisone cream which made it worse. I almost gave up and decided to try monistat cream and it kind of helped. I used monistat for a week and it helped but not entirely, so in desperation I thought I would try a home remedy. I started to use baking soda as a scrub in the shower. Then afterwards I used apple cider vinegar as as an astringent and well here I am about 90% cleared up! My skin is the softest it has ever been. I only used the vinegar now when I see eruptions. The only thing about the baking soda is that in the shower using just my hands the scrub effect is gentle, but if u use a face cloth it can be quite harsh. I will never buy face wash or scrub again! |
