Pros: Seems to be working, (on it now). Cons: I've been on it for almost a moth but I still get some deep pimples. I got a mild rash within the first 2 weeks but just discontinued the medication for a few days and now my body is used to it. Bottom Line: If you don't want to take the next step and do accutane this is for you, if this doesn't clear up my skin completley within a month I am swapping to that. Its affordable, and works but if you aren't satisfied get onto accutane, which has more side effects but I've had 3 friends who have previously been on it and they are fine and their skin is amazing now. I got this medication for cheaper for government compensation or something, so it only cost me $22. Recommended: Yes Usage: James has used this item for about a month. Pros: Seemed to work Cons: VERY ALLERGIC Bottom Line: I wish I had a chance to try this for a longer period of time. After only a week I got very sick, red all over, and had joint pain that is beyond description. It turned out I am allergic, but it seems to have helped many. Pros: wow. have struggled with moderate to severe acne for years. have tried "everything". bactrim is extremely effective (i take 2 double strength pills a day) very few side effects (unless you are allergic) my skin is completely clear (after 1 month! Cons: long-term antibiotic use is unhealthy; but my only other option was accutane, which is worse (actually started it but it made me feel like i was goin crazy) Bottom Line: give this a try. it is potent and can even clear persistant cysts (have used this in the past - each time with great results; but it does all come back pretty quickly if you stop) Recommended: Yes Usage: Reviewer has used this item for about a month. Pros: Helped tremendously decreas my acne and redness Cons: Could have sever allergic reactions - rash, fever, dizziness Bottom Line: I used this product for about 2 weeks and it did wonders to reduce my acne occurance and oilyness. However, after 2 weeks, I had a fever of 101, rash, and dizziness. I would give this product a shot because if you are not allergic, then it could do wonders. Pros: I am a die hard fan of Bactrim. I was on it all through high school and my skin was amazing. Completely loved the stuff. Cons: I think it kind of messed up my stomach a bit but it was alllll worth it! The only bad thing about taking an antibiotic is you can't stay on it forever:( Bottom Line: Use it. Pros: Began seeing results in just a few days; suppressed appetite (lost weight!) Cons: I'm allergic :( Bottom Line: I was really excited to try this drug because from what I read it seemed like it’s very effective when it comes to clearing up skin. For years I've tried every topical prescription available plus every other antibiotic. This was the last drug my derm was going to prescribe before moving onto Accutane if necessary. I started seeing results after just a few days of taking Bactrim, however unfortunately I developed an allergic reaction after a couple weeks: rash, extreme muscle/joint pain, trouble breathing, etc. While this drug is totally not agreeable with me, I’d still recommend it to others despite the harm it can cause to your body. Just be alert – if you start developing any signs of an allergy, stop before it gets worse! It can do some scary stuff. Recommended: Yes Usage: Cabin has used this item for a few weeks. Pros: It cleared me up! Cons: I'm just worried about what will happen when I get off. Hoepfully I can talk my derm into letting me stay on it long term. Bottom Line: If my derm lets me stay on it long term then it's great...otherwise I'm pretty sure the acne will come back once I get off. Pros: Had acne problems throughout highschool (15-18). Tried topical stuff with no luck. went to tetracycline and some other antibiotics with little success. Started taking bactrim; my acne cleared up 100%. Along with retin A most scarring has disappeared Cons: any antibiotic for a period of time is bad for you. I didnt have any negative side effects (i have stomach problems but not sure if its from antibiotics or not). Was a miracle drug for me Bottom Line: I stopped taking it yesterday to see if (hopefully) my acne has naturally stopped occuring. im 20; if it starts coming back I will go right back on it. I still wash my face twice a day with Cetaphil and apply retinA at night to stop scarring. Pros: Clears up skin, its amazing, a dream I waited too long for... Cons: You can be allergic to it... Bottom Line: I've been taking it for 3 weeks and I think I might be allergic to it since I've developed a rash but it's in the same area I touched the cat and I'm allergic to cats.
