Pros: I am a die hard fan of Bactrim. I was on it all through high school and my skin was amazing. Completely loved the stuff. Cons: I think it kind of messed up my stomach a bit but it was alllll worth it! The only bad thing about taking an antibiotic is you can't stay on it forever:( Bottom Line: Use it. Pros: Began seeing results in just a few days; suppressed appetite (lost weight!) Cons: I'm allergic :( Bottom Line: I was really excited to try this drug because from what I read it seemed like it’s very effective when it comes to clearing up skin. For years I've tried every topical prescription available plus every other antibiotic. This was the last drug my derm was going to prescribe before moving onto Accutane if necessary. I started seeing results after just a few days of taking Bactrim, however unfortunately I developed an allergic reaction after a couple weeks: rash, extreme muscle/joint pain, trouble breathing, etc. While this drug is totally not agreeable with me, I’d still recommend it to others despite the harm it can cause to your body. Just be alert – if you start developing any signs of an allergy, stop before it gets worse! It can do some scary stuff. Recommended: Yes Usage: Cabin has used this item for a few weeks. Pros: It cleared me up! Cons: I'm just worried about what will happen when I get off. Hoepfully I can talk my derm into letting me stay on it long term. Bottom Line: If my derm lets me stay on it long term then it's great...otherwise I'm pretty sure the acne will come back once I get off. Pros: Had acne problems throughout highschool (15-18). Tried topical stuff with no luck. went to tetracycline and some other antibiotics with little success. Started taking bactrim; my acne cleared up 100%. Along with retin A most scarring has disappeared Cons: any antibiotic for a period of time is bad for you. I didnt have any negative side effects (i have stomach problems but not sure if its from antibiotics or not). Was a miracle drug for me Bottom Line: I stopped taking it yesterday to see if (hopefully) my acne has naturally stopped occuring. im 20; if it starts coming back I will go right back on it. I still wash my face twice a day with Cetaphil and apply retinA at night to stop scarring. Pros: Works very well but effects are beginning to dwindle after a year Cons: can taste bad if you dont swallow fast. Becomes less active after a while of usage. Bottom Line: . Pros: Clears up skin, its amazing, a dream I waited too long for... Cons: You can be allergic to it... Bottom Line: I've been taking it for 3 weeks and I think I might be allergic to it since I've developed a rash but it's in the same area I touched the cat and I'm allergic to cats. Pros: No more acne! Cons: Long term antibiotic use-must have some undesired effects. (Have not experienced any myself) Have lost quite a bit of weight, but not complaining! Bottom Line: I had terrible acne which developed quite late, was 28 and it came without any warning! After trying everything I could i was prescribed Crime thoprim by my doctor. I didn't see the results straight away, but after about 2 months or so all my spots have vanished and i don't get new ones. I would recommend it to everyone! Pros: So far so good. Not drastic results but it's only day 2 and I've noticed my acne is drying up and swelling down. Cons: Nothing Bottom Line: I'm not sure what I have. I have moderate skin; however, Dr. tested my skin and my cultures came up positive for an infection. It looks just like acne and it's all under my chin/neck area. It even started spreading on my face! As soon as I started taking Bactrim, it's slowly healing. I really hope this works. And I hope I'm not allergic to this! Pros: clears skin the very next day! so easy! Cons: can cause yeast infections...yuck! Bottom Line: i have tried everything under the sun and trust me this pill works!! i saw improvement the very next day!! i haven't had any spots since i started taking this. Kind of a big pill but just drink lots of water (i only take one a day). It can cause yeast infections but i take a probiotic along with it and i've had no problems. i wish it wasn't an antibiotic so i could stay on it forever!!!!!!! my confidence has been boosted so much!! Pros: Didn't upset my stomach like most antibiotics do. Seems to be clearing up my back acne. I got it filled for free at Publix Cons: Large pills...must be taken 2x day Bottom Line: I started taking them on Thursday, it's now Monday and my back acne seems to be clearing up. I've been taking them in conjunction with a sulphur wash and topical treatment (Ziana). Hasn't done much for the light acne on my face.
