| Bottom line | I expressed my dissatisfaction with using topicals for my skin & let the dermatologist know that I was also too afraid to take the leap in going on accutane. In discussing options, I was prescribed Septra, since it helps stop oil production & my skin was very oily. It took about two weeks to kick in but once it did, during my third month I was completely satisfied. Because the reviews here said that my breakouts would come back after I stopped taking this, I told the Derm I wanted to continue past Three months & did, surpassings Six months. Totaling to over a year in use. My breakouts came back due to another issue regarding Sunscreen, but I suggest this to any one suffering from breakouts. Of course, consult your dermatologist & make sure they understand your concerns. |

| Bottom line | read my blog i had the worst experience with this drug and it all started with flu-like symptoms! one of the scariest experiences in my life i was hospitalized for 3 days and in intensive care i just got out 2 days ago i would love to help you or anyone else that could be at risk of this horrible syndrome!! |

| Bottom line | I've taken this last year for a month and then again last month, and It works but I really don't recommend it. It's not that it made me sick, but it made me tired alot and I had to have blood tests every time I took it to see if it wasn't killing me. Maybe it's just the blood taking I hated, but anyways it's not something to run off to ask your derm for. |

| Bottom line | I was amazed at how quickly it worked when I initially started taking it in September 2010. I noticed the difference immediately, and within only 3 days most of my acne was going down. Within 2-3 weeks; however, i developed an allergic reaction to it. It started with headaches and fever, muscle pain. Then I developed a rash that started on my back and spread onto my arms and abdomen. It also became itchy. I discontinued taking it. The improved skin cindition continued for some months, I noticed I would only mildly break out just before my period. This is still the case. Most of the time now, my skin is clear. As the acne scars are fading, I find I don't need to wear make-up daily to cover up anymore. Although GP's tell you to take it until finished, I have now been taking it only for "spot treatments". Although it doesn't work as effectively as the initial impressive result, it does work for me (I take it for 3-4 days only) and I have not experienced any side effects. PS I have been battling adult acne for many years and it was usually moderately severe. |

| Bottom line | I have been on Bactrim since Feb. 2011 and it's finally working well. I haven't had a pimple the past month, however, it did take 2 months for my existing and new acne to stop surfacing and become clear. It was slow-working for me, but with patience, it kicked in. Be sure to drink lots of water with the medication and also be sure to wear a hat or some sort of cover when out in the sun. It makes you very sun-sensitive! -Also, be sure to take a probiotic when taking this medicine. It is a very strong medicine and my Dr. said it was a step right below Accutane. Monitor your body and fluid intake while on this. This isn't a permanent cure, but once it kicks in (and that can take a few months for some people, like me), you will find relief for your acne. | Bottom line | i asked my soctor about being given this, he said it was for water problems in the bladder :/ so i went home and googled it and yes in england its not used for acne its used for like i said bladder infections, so went bk and made him give me it just to see as ive tryed everything else, and once again nothing has worked! not recommended. Good luck to everyone tho |

| Bottom line | I am 25 years old and have had acne for 10 years. I have tried Accutane 2 times, all the topical gels, and other antibiotics. Bactrim is the first thing that has worked for me besides Accutane. Bactrim stopped new acne from day 1 and I have been on it 1 month today and have no new acne! I am very surprised, and pleased, as I was a skeptic. |

| Bottom line | i don't get it with this antibiotic. i was taking monocycline for 2 months and was about 85% clear, but this drug is only making me 50% clear, if even that. I never had a rash or reaction to this drug nor did i ever really get better. First few weeks of this drug were fine i guess, not really any new pimples, but it never got better; it's been getting worse. Now i have to result to accutaine or back to monocycline to not be embarrassed to go in public. I wish this drug worked for me like it did for other people, but it's a serious let down. It's not even perticularly meant for acne, some urinary sh*t; very sad going to Coachella with a volcano face |

| Bottom line | I had a severe allergic reaction to this antibiotic. I ran a fever for 5 days and on the 5th day broke out in a horrible rash from head to toe! Once the fever broke I began to feel the extreme itchiness of the rash. I was in agony for next 48 hours. No sleep and no relief. Finally doc got me on Medrol dose pack to calm it down. This was so unusual because I'm one of those people that can take any kind of medicine, eat anything, drink anything, without any problem at all. Well not anymore! Next step is Accutane I guess. I've maxed out all the antibiotic options (Doryx, Solodyne, Oracea). Wish me luck! |

| Bottom line | used it with retina micro. in just 3 days i noticed very less white stuff coming out. that meant it was working. i persisted and i know iam 98 percent clear. previously retina a alone didnt work that well and i was only 56 % clear. i take one each day therefore probably i havent experienced any sideeffects yet. avouar |
