Pros The best product I have found for Acne. Has cleared my skin completely been on it for about 2-3 months now. I recommend people to see a derm before your Acne get bad and you end up with scaring. If only I found this product earlier.
Cons Be careful of sun sensitivity. I just make sure i put on a good sunscreen like Clinique Super Defence for oily to oily skin every day.
Bottom line Great product, go to a derm and find out if it is right for you!

Pros works so well! no breakouts the entire time i took it and for months afterwards not a single new spot! i expereinces no side effects at all, just nice skin! : ) oh and free because im in canada!
Cons acne gradually starts to come back...not terrible for me, but after using this product and having PERFECT looking skin i was dissapointed even though my breakouts were relatively minor.
Bottom line i am 22 and have hormonal acne, so i only breakout on my chin...my derm said antibiotics and Birth control are the best thing for this type of acne so i guess i'll be on and off them untill i'm less sensitive to my hormones!

Pros Just began taking this med, and hope there will be lots of pros in the follow up! Very cheap with insurance!
Cons Just began, so hopefully I won't experience any. Have heard of all the side effects with Sulfa drugs. I pray to God I don't have a problem with this drug, as I am done going in to the derm saying I am allergic and need a new pill.
Bottom line I used to be on Minocycline before breaking out into hives. Derm recommended this instead. I have heard all about the side effects of Steven-Johnsons Syndrome and Blood count lowered, and the ever present allergic reaction. I pray I can tolerate this med, and be able to have clear skin again!

Pros Cleared my acne. The best medication I've tried so far. I'm 35 and have suffered from acne since my teens. I've had constant acne and periods of
Cons None so far.
Bottom line I've had acne since my teens and suffered quite large and uncomfortable breakouts throughout my 20s and 30's. At the worst of times, a day wouldn't go by without a new spot or several spots appearing.Big whiteheads that start deep within the skin...even in my 30s. Just the feeling of that under the skin itching made me feel like life wasn't worth living. I couldn't understand why I was still suffering even into my 30s. A large breakout happened during the spring/summer this year. I was extremely depressed about it. My GP to referred me to a dermatologist. When I saw the dermatologist he didn't want to let me have roaccutane due to my history of depression. I told him that acne was one of the causes of my depression and I doubted roaccutane would make my depression worse but he didn't seem to listen and prescribed this trimethoprim (300mg twice a day). I was pissed off with him for prescribing yet another antibiotic. 3 months in and I'm not getting any spots not even the tiny ones!

Pros well at first i thought my cystic acne was almost gone but i guess not no more.. i started using birth control for acne too so that might of made it worse.
Cons i have trouble sleeping at night and i have very dry scalp..i dont know if the dry scalp is do to this med.. but it sucks!!
Bottom line i am on my third week and i plan to try this med for three full months... only time will tell and plus im taking birth control for my acne too. and persa gel topical medication. i hope to GOD this will help.. the topical med has made my skin super red and dry but i guess thats how it starts.. hopefully it clears up!!!! try this why not??

Pros Within days my skin was looking way better, I still got one or two smaller pimples a day, but nothing large like I was getting before, and by day 10 I haven't gotten one in a few days (a HUGE event for me).
Cons Makes me VERY sick - headaches, nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, my body feels like it's pulsating, I get incredibly cold, I feel tired, depressed... I've tried drinking it with lots of water and eating lots of food, but that only helps a little.
Bottom line Works great, but the side effects make it terrible. I'd rather live with acne! Right now I'm just taking it at night since it doesn't seem to affect me as badly when I'm sleeping.

Pros Only have to take a couple pills a day, fast and noticeable results.
Cons Not the easiest pill to swallow and can leave a bad taste in your mouth and throat
Bottom line I have tried other prescription treatments and Bactrim worked wonders for my acne (face and back). Along with a good face washing routine and some simple otc face cream (I used persa-gel) I noticed results in about a week, and my face was just about pimple and outbreak free after 3 weeks.

Pros Pleased for the first week only.
Cons Helped my skin at first, but now I'm breaking out really badly on my chest and neck, worse than ever. I was at first pleased with the results, but now i'm having second thoughts. I'm breaking out worse than I ever have now.
Bottom line I'm still waiting to see if this works, it has been terrible recently though. I have been using it for almost 3 weeks.

Pros Iv been on this for about a year, it is great!Iim taking it with the contraceptive pill dianette(for my acne, not contraception). They both work excellent together, and in weeks!
Cons the pill is not in a capsule, its dry and if it get stuck in your throat it tastes DISGUSTING!It can cause nausia and headaches, but i found that your body gets used to it after a month of so; also make sure you drink lots of water&eat with it
Bottom line IT great, its the only thing that worked for me. Iv had acne since im 11. Im 22 now, and when I went off this medication in summer my skin broke out terrible. so its now a long term solution. But my theory is that theres no l/t solution for acne. cuz iv heard many reports of people on ro accutate whos acne came back.
