| Pros | clears skin the very next day! so easy! |
|---|---|
| Cons | can cause yeast infections...yuck! |
| Bottom line | i have tried everything under the sun and trust me this pill works!! i saw improvement the very next day!! i haven't had any spots since i started taking this. Kind of a big pill but just drink lots of water (i only take one a day). It can cause yeast infections but i take a probiotic along with it and i've had no problems. i wish it wasn't an antibiotic so i could stay on it forever!!!!!!! my confidence has been boosted so much!! |

| Pros | Didn't upset my stomach like most antibiotics do. Seems to be clearing up my back acne. I got it filled for free at Publix |
|---|---|
| Cons | Large pills...must be taken 2x day |
| Bottom line | I started taking them on Thursday, it's now Monday and my back acne seems to be clearing up. I've been taking them in conjunction with a sulphur wash and topical treatment (Ziana). Hasn't done much for the light acne on my face. |

| Pros | clears any existing breakouts makes them smaller by the next day, stops any new pimples from forming (although i did get 1 or 2 new smaller pimples when i started it- perhaps these would have been cystic ones if i didnt use bactrim?) |
|---|---|
| Cons | Made my back, arms and legs itchy, a lot of rashes everywhere, scratching non stop. feeling tired all the time. |
| Bottom line | works, but only as short term while ur on it. made me itch, ive stopped taking it and not itching as much, it will take a day or 2 for this product to get out of my system and i will stop get rashes completely. |

| Pros | I love this prescription. I took it last winter because I always break out in the winter and it cleared me up completely within a few months... when I came off it I had almost an entire year of clear skin. Had to go back though :( |
|---|---|
| Cons | Nothing for me...taste bad if they get stuck in your throat. |
| Bottom line | See a dermatologist. I know that it is expensive for most of us... but it is worth it. Even just the idea that something is helping you can make it better. If your skin reacts well to sulfur I would really try this... and for me it wasn't one of those treatments that takes several months to see results, it works fairly fast. |

| Pros | none!! but I did learn I am allerergic to sulfa. (my first allergy ever) |
|---|---|
| Cons | huge pill, hard to go down, very bad allergic reactions |
| Bottom line | this pill was HORRIBLE for me. I started it 3 weeks ago. about 1 1/2 weeks into it I had a fever of 103 and had swollen lymph nodes and a severe migrane and chills. I went to immediate care but the idiot on call doc. said it was the flu. So now 2 days ago I started getting a rash. Today i went to the doctor with a rash on my legs, arms, hands, and worse of all it traveled from my legs to my butt to my back. I also have a sore throat and a bad hedache. My doc. said its good i came in as soon as i did b/c it could have gotten worse if i didnt stop the pill. |

| Pros | clears some spots, minimizes red ness as they are anti-inflammitory. |
|---|---|
| Cons | didnt work aswell as i thought, first week of using it i broke out with two massive spots on my chin. However i think it might have somethng to do with the fact i developed a tolerance for doxycyline as i used it for 9 months. |
| Bottom line | if you are going to use trimethoprim make sure that you wernt on your last drug for more than 3-5 months, jst so that your body doesnt creare too much of a tolerance and give the trimethoprim a fighting chance. |

| Pros | This stuff cleared up my skin in just a few days. My acne has been very severe and painful, and I think it is caused by taking lithium. Bactrim has been amazing for me! |
|---|---|
| Cons | Big pills are hard to swallow, have to take twice a day but it's all worth it |
| Bottom line | Works really well for my medication based severe acne. My face pain was reduced the day I started taking it. |

| Pros | Got rid of my larger break outs but i still have little bumps. It took about 2-3 weeks for it to start showing results. |
|---|---|
| Cons | If i forget a pill, i notice the next day. I don't know when i'll ever be able to come off it! lol |
| Bottom line | It's a good acne medication, but i think they're is better out there. Maybe it's just my skin type though. Good luck to everyone else using it though! Acne blows! lol |
