This is the ONLY prescription that has ever worked for me! i love this stuff, i took it for a year and a half with hardly any acne...i just came back to college and stopped my medication of it and yes, i broke out to which my room mate commented, "you were so clear and now your acne is pretty bad again, what happened?" so i said alright, time for bactrim...i just got some yesterday and its killed a bunch of cysts in one night, amazing

I was prescribed bactrim after having a minor surgical procedure that had nothing to do with acne. I soon started to realize how well it works on my skin. It has had so far this amazing effect to clear up old spots from acne (which remained quite resistant to other topical or oral medications until now), and it seems to do the job really fast. Having done a little research on the Internet, I found that the drug has worked miracles for others as well. I haven't looked or felt better in years. I am going to disuss this with my dermatologist as soon as I get an appointment, and I hope the progess will continue.

ive been on it for about a month and a half and after the first day, i saw results. definately try it, i was on doryx and benza clin and retin a and proactive, none of them worked. ask ur doctor for it, welllllllllll worth it. try it before going on accutane, trust me i wanted to go on accutane but this has worked miracles.

Ive been on this for over a year now. I have just started seeing great results in the last few months. At first I was a little upset with the results, but now that its kicking in, my skin has cleared up more than it has from anything else. this with a good face wash keeps my skin 95% clear. I still get the occasional breakout, and once every few weeks my acne will come back a little, but after a few days it'll go away... hopefully it'll eventually clear completely

My dermotologist prescribed Bactrim for my acne as a final try before going to Acutane. I took it in the morning and by evening I was so miserably sick, I thought I had the flu. I took another pill in the evening, not realizing it was the meds yet and by morning I couldn't get out of bed. I had all the symptoms of the most violent flu you can think of, so naseaus and pounding headache I couldn't open my eyes, and broke out in weird red skin discolorations and itchy. I was too sick to get out of bed and take another pill, so by evening I was beginning to feel better, and it ocurred to me, I might be having an allergic reaction. And I was! Because I took 1/2 a pill as a tester, and the symptom started all over again. So beware, if you haven't taken sulphate/sulphur based drugs before!

I have a question I was just prescribed Bactrim. How soon can i see the results..i have acne on my cheeks and i want to results ASAP cuz i had acne for one year and it has left so many marks on my cheeks loooks so bad::(((((((((((((((

Im on day 4 of this stuff and since i got it perscribed, already taking retina and bp (4 weeks into it) and this has helped my acne lots. I was given a 10 day supply cycle then I go back to my minocycline but wow this stuff works great.

This stuff is amazing! I used to me on minocycline and that was great but I had to get off of that in a year. I switched to Doxy and OMG that was horrible... it made me sick and 75% of my acne returned in a month! I looked on the comments for this, and talked to a friend who took it, and then soon called my DR to get septra. After the 1st day I could tell the difference. Its almost been to weeks and my face looks so much better! 2 weeks more and all of my spots and scars will be gone too! I feel so confident and beautiful... something I didnt think i would experience after my dr took me of minocycline! I highly suggest this stuff if you have horrible acne. But also definetly make sure you take a pro-biotic with it... or else you will have problems with your immune system! Good luck everyone and remember the answer is out there!!!!

Septra was the only thing that really worked for me besides Accutane. I was on Accutane at 21 and then later at 25, but it was pretty harsh on my body. Then, my dermatologist told me that unfortunately i was one of the % of the population that accutane just won't work for (permanently). So, he prescribed Septra, and it was GREAT!!! (in addition to BCP and differin). UNFORTUNATELY, you can't be on septra when you're trying to conceive (as well as alot of other things, obviously). So, if you're not trying to get pregnant OR you're a male, you should go to Septra. It worked amazingly well and FAST.

Great medication. I have used it consistently for two years (DS) and worked wonderfully well. Stopped taking it per my new MD's order six months ago and all of the acne symptoms came back with a vengence. ARGH.... it worked while it lasted.
