| Bottom line | I had huge cysts all over my face and I'd taken tetracycline for months with no improvement. Within days of taking bactrim I had no more breakouts, within two weeks all my previous breakouts had healed and disappeared. I'm also using trentinoin cream at night. My face is sort of dry so I have to exfoliate in the morning with a wash cloth, but my skin is so pretty and clear I don't have to wear makeup anymore! :D I am so thankful for bactrim! I'm just scared that my skin will go back to the way it was if I stop taking it. |

| Bottom line | it's a reason to give "interpharm inc" income... they prolly pay doctors to perscribe it. just tell your doctor you don't want to be a guinea pig and to give you something that ALWAYS has results. |

| Bottom line | After taking tetracycline and my skin got WORSE, I was feeling pretty crappy by then. So, I saw my dermo again, and he prescribed this stuff. I was so relieved to be off tetracycline, and at first i didn't see any results with Bactrim, but after a month i began seeing great improvements with my skin. And Now it's been two months, and my skin is completely free of pimples. Touch it, and it is smooth and wonderful. Now i just gotta get rid of the scars and It'll be perfect. =] |

| Bottom line | Bactrim DS 160mg/800mg Tablets 60 (6 x 10) (Authority Script) 46 cents per tablet This is the only thing that really works. I get deep cyst type pimples on my cheeks, but within a week of starting this, they disappeared. I have been on it for over a year now. I know it is still working because if I forget to take it for a few days, I will ALWAYS break out! The best thing is I can now be so carefree with my skin and I still wont get cysts. For example: I don't use any acne creams, I wash my face with soap, I can sleep in my makeup, and I can forget to wash my face. My life has changed :-) A dermatologist got me onto this. And now my normal GP dispenses this to me as my dermatologist was nice enough to send a letter to my GP saying please dispense this, so I don't have to pay to go to the Dermatologists and pay his fees every time I need my script refilled. | Bottom line | Allergic to Tetracycline and Minocycline so this was gonna be one of my last stops before the A word. Been taking it for about a month and I haven't been this clear for this long in 13 years. If you've tried everything else this is def. worth a shot before accutane. |

| Cons | I had a serum reaction and had to go to the hospital for a night. Awful symptoms including high fever, a lot of vomiting, and a rash. |
| Bottom line | It's probably a great drug if you know for sure that you can handle sulfa drugs. Otherwise the reaction can be pretty intense and scary. |

| Cons | I've been on it for almost a moth but I still get some deep pimples. I got a mild rash within the first 2 weeks but just discontinued the medication for a few days and now my body is used to it. |
| Bottom line | If you don't want to take the next step and do accutane this is for you, if this doesn't clear up my skin completley within a month I am swapping to that. Its affordable, and works but if you aren't satisfied get onto accutane, which has more side effects but I've had 3 friends who have previously been on it and they are fine and their skin is amazing now. I got this medication for cheaper for government compensation or something, so it only cost me $22. |

| Bottom line | I wish I had a chance to try this for a longer period of time. After only a week I got very sick, red all over, and had joint pain that is beyond description. It turned out I am allergic, but it seems to have helped many. |
