Pros: Pleased for the first week only. Cons: Helped my skin at first, but now I'm breaking out really badly on my chest and neck, worse than ever. I was at first pleased with the results, but now i'm having second thoughts. I'm breaking out worse than I ever have now. Bottom Line: I'm still waiting to see if this works, it has been terrible recently though. I have been using it for almost 3 weeks. Pros: Iv been on this for about a year, it is great!Iim taking it with the contraceptive pill dianette(for my acne,not contraception). They both work excellent together, and in weeks! Cons: the pill is not in a capsule, its dry and if it get stuck in your throat it tastes DISGUSTING!It can cause nausia and headaches, but i found that your body gets used to it after a month of so; also make sure you drink lots of water&eat with it Bottom Line: IT great, its the only thing that worked for me. Iv had acne since im 11. Im 22 now, and when I went off this medication in summer my skin broke out terrible. so its now a long term solution. But my theory is that theres no l/t solution for acne. cuz iv heard many reports of people on ro accutate whos acne came back. Recommended: Yes Usage: Anon has used this item for a few months. Pros: I am on day 3 of this and love it!!! For the past 3 months I have been on 3 other antibiotics and non worked. I already see my cysts getting smaller and pimples healing. Cons: I am prone to yeast infections and have gotten a HORRIBLE one due to this antibiotic. If you are prone to these, you may want to ask for a diflucan prescription. Bottom Line: For 3 months I have tried to clear my chin. This is the first time I have seen any improvement. Recommended: Yes Usage: buckimom has used this item for a day or two. Pros: I had that cystic acne and on top of that pimples all around it. It was horrible but i have been using Bactrim for not even a week now and most of my pimples are just about gone and the cysts are getting smaller by day. Cons: I don't have any problems with it so far. No side effects yet and hopefully it stays that way Bottom Line: I have tried so much crap for acne that it is unbelievable but Bactrim has actually shown an improvement and in less than a week too. I'm usiing the generic brand so it's only costing me 15 dollars which is great. If you're not allergic to it talk to your derm and try it out and see how it works for you. Pros: Cleared up about 95% so far. Works swiftly. VERY CHEAP! Cons: You MUST drink water while on this medication or you will feel parched. You MUST eat something with this medication or you will feel slight stomach sickness . It has not cleared up blackhead as of yet. Bottom Line: It works! My skin looks better than it has in years and I imagine it will only get better with time. Recommended: Yes Usage: Raeri has used this item for a few weeks. Cons: Had an Allergic Reaction to the drug Bottom Line: Something like 20% of people are allergic to this drug if I remember what my derm told me, I happen to be in that group and suffered an allergic reaction to septra/bactrim Recommended: No Usage: Tim has used this item for about a week. Pros: Bad, bad cystic acne. After week of usage, acne began to "dry" up, but sores still raised from skin. Starting to see a change for the positive though. Cons: Trouble sleeping at night -- restless Bottom Line: Try it!! The combination of using Bactrim twice a day and then washing face at night with a soap-free wash and applying a prescription topical cream at night seems to be doing the trick. I have already received compliments of how my face seems to be clearing up. I hope this continues to work as my next step would be Accutane, which doesn't thrill me since that is quite an involved process. Recommended: Yes Usage: Wojo has used this item for about a week. Pros: non yet.. Cons: no sign of improvement, in fact its worsened.. Bottom Line: ive been taking this medication for about a week now and after reading all the reviews i was really excited to finally see my cystic acne go away . over the past week ive broken out more then ever and just hope its somewhat like accutane where it worsens at first but all the reviews are described at immediate results. if anyone knows whether it will get better or im just wasting my time and making my acne worse please let me know.. Pros: Worked very quickly. I have had acne my whole life. I took acutane which worked wonders but acne came back. Starting taking this and had great results yet again. Cons: I keep hearing of crazy side effects but it maybe have me an upset stomach a few times over a year period Bottom Line: If you have huge boil/cyst acne, this will work great for you. I never had one cyst while one this medication. I would tend to have one every other month when not taking it. Its cheap and works great quickly. I did stop taking it and my face broke out again. Pros: Quick result. Less acne with a regular routin cleaning of your face. Cons: Headaches and nausea but if you drink lots of water, headache should disappear. Plenty of water and take it in full stomach so that you don't get headaches and nausea. Frink plenty of water for sure. Bottom Line: I'm still taking it. It seems to work. Been taking it for 2 1/2 weeks now. I heard there are some side effects like kidney problems etc.. but still have to ask my Dermatologist about it.
