Pros Cleared up skin immediately. Dries fast, reduces oil, makes skin look normal!
Cons Slight dryness at first.
Bottom line I've been using Finacea for approx. one week and have had ZERO new pimples since the first day I started using it. My skin reacted to it a bit at first with some dryness and flaking but now, just one week later, it looks unbelievable. I haven't had clear skin for 7 consecutive days for as long as I can remember. I have used EVERY SINGLE product there is - Retin-A, Clindamycin, Benzoyl Peroxide, Antibiotics etc, and nothing has ever given me results like this. Right now I'm on 10% BP wash in the morning and at night, Finacea morning and night, and Retin-A mixed w/my heavy night moisturizer at night, along w/oral antibiotics 2x a day. My skin hasn't looked this clear in years.

Pros I have used the product for only a couple of weeks. Have not experienced any stinging or burning. I am using it for brown spots and reddening on the cheeks.
Cons None
Bottom line Will continue to use it for a couple of months to see if it lightens the discoloraton. So far, the product is easy to use and there appear to be no side affects.

Pros Gets rid of oily skin
Cons Doesn't stop whiteheads, turns your face very red, and causes itching so bad you would pay to take a wire brush to your face.
Bottom line I was only on this for 7 days so I'm not the best judge. I was on Clyndamycin and switched to this and I had to spend the next week locked up in my apartment. I never quit medication no matter what but I just couldn't stay on this one. You say to yourself that the itching is no big deal but when you combine incredible itching with steps in the wrong direction it was an easy decision. I can't imagine that this wouldn't turn anyone's skin into a crust filled wasteland but then again everyone is different. Definitely use at your own risk!!

Pros I've been on Finacea azelaic acid get 15% for 2 months now and I can tell you that the changes in my skin are great. My break outs of acne has dropped I'd say 90%. I use this cream along with Differin at night and an antibiotic. I feel good now.
Cons Some burning when I initially started using the cream and flaking. That lasted for the first two weeks. Now I put it on and go with no problems.
Bottom line It took time to see the results. I've been on these meds now for two months and I can see the changes. My family and friends also notice that my skin is healthy and compliment me all the time. My skin is smooth to the touch, I still have some scaring but that is even lighting up over time as I continue to use the medicine. I ensure I was my hands before and after application, try not to pick and cleanse my skin twice a day with a hypoallergenic facial wash. My confidence is up and I hope you will experience the same results as me. I would recommend this to anyone. I'm in the military,it cost me nothing just my time to put it on and use it as directed.

Pros Clears acne and helps with oily skin it is also so moisturizing that my daughter doesn't need to use a moisturizer with it and her skin is extremely sensitive and very very dry to the point that i had spent a fortune at sephora in moisturizers.
Cons Absolutely none she says sumtimes it itches just a little but is gone after a few minutes and thats only happened a couple of times.
Bottom line My daughters face is soooo clear shes thirteen and i was spending so much money trying to get her skin clear again. She uses Korres White Tea cleanser from Sephora and Azelex cream in the morning and night. Her face started clearing after a week of using the azelex cream before this she had used proactiv, clearogen, cosmedicine, ddf, erythromycin and nothing worked at all. This is truly a Miracle Cream!

Pros No irritation, unlike with Benzoyl Peroxide.
Cons Felt as though it hasn't really improved my acne.
Bottom line Switched to azelaic acid as I can't use Benzoyl Peroxide cause my skin gets a really bad reaction to it, and I end up with a horrible red rash down my neck. I found that the azelaic acid isn't really working, although I have only been using it for about 2 weeks. Going to start in Differin and use the azelaic acid in the morning instead. Hope it helps.

I would recommend it because it didn't leave me with a bad reaction. May work for some people, for others it may not. Worth a try anyway..

Pros Very effective! Smoothed complexion, overall lightening of the skin, cleared acne!
Cons Burning and itchy for first 30 mins or so after application for at least 3 weeks from the date first started using.
Bottom line Azelaic is great! I've used antibiotics, retin-a, benzoyl peroxide, and more to try to calm down breakouts. Nothing has worked as effectively as this product. I'm very pleased with the overall smoothness and the brightness of my skin color. I would highly recommend this product to anyone that has been struggling with breakouts and/or minor skin discoloration.

Pros It WORKS!! Clears up acne on face, chest, back (I know, gross!) etc. It also helps even out any skin discoloration. It has even reduced fine lines....serious!!
Cons Has a slight burning/stinging sensation when first applied which is worse if you're putting it on at bedtime (lying on it!). Not cheap...my co-pay is $30.
Bottom line Definitely recommend...especially if you are one of the rare people like myself who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide (in most over the counter acne meds). I was very self-conscious when going to the pool/beach, as I had acne the worst on my back, chest and neck. It got to the point where I was self conscious around my husband of 12 years! I finally got fed up and went to the dermatologist. I'm amazed at the outcome!! The burning/stinging sensation went away after 2-3 months. The Azelex did start drying my face after a couple months too, but I use Aveeno face lotion with my morning application and Differin (another topical acne treatment prescribed by my dermatologist) with my nightly application. Both help keep my face from getting dry. I also take an antibiotic twice a day and wash with Dove soap twice a day.

Pros Lightens hyperpigmentation
Cons itch's for about 5 min but not too bad, $50.00 with my insurance b/c I haven't met my deductible yet but I saw that some were only paying $10.00 but I WOULD pay the $50 again
Bottom line It really helps to lighten the dark spots and red marks but didn't help with my little "rice" like underskin pimples
