I used Azelex years ago and remembered liking it - it seemed I had fewer blackheads and my skin was smooth.

Currently my acne is almost completely controlled by birth control pills. I have occasional break outs and stray zits that I'm hoping Azelex will help. This was the only product I knew of that helped fade old red marks, which I needed desperately!

I don't mind the itching - I guess it's my way of knowing it's working!

Use finacea in the morning and differin at night, horrible pain to the point of torture, but by switching to applying the finacea only on my cheecks (affected area) no more pain, clearer skin but looks kind of scaly, also discolouration on neck area. I feel ugly, and hope there will be sunshine after the pain :)

I never had acne so bad until just after I turned 19. I don't know if it was the stress of college life or the humidity of Florida that caused my acne. I'm from a much drier climate, and the humidity here is a nightmare for someone who has naturally oily skin. At one point I was washing my face 3 and 4 times a day just to keep it clear. I went on Accutane for 7 months when I was 22. The first 2 or 3 months I looked like a monster with red, cracked, peeling skin. My skin was so dry that my lips would bleed at the corners of my mouth. Anyway, the Accutane worked for about 6 months or so after I stopped treatment. My skin looked great! Unfortunately after that my skin went back to being oily. I've tried just about every Rx acne product.

The reason I like Azelex Acid so much is that helps control breakouts and also does a great job of fading acne scars. My once oily blothy complexion is redness free, and my skin tone is evened out. The first week or so your skin will itch/burn for a few minutes after applying almost to the point where you want to scratch your face off. If you can stick it out eventually your skin adjusts and it's not so bad.

It is very soft and gentle, and then it makes me want to itch my face. not really bad itching, though. my face tingles... I guess that means it is working.

This is the 6th different med I have tried for adult acne. I could only use it for 1 week because it was so painful - I may have had a bad reaction. Burning, stinging, extremely hot skin, redness - you name it I had it. Dr. took me off of it, still waiting for new med to work but it only took a few days for the bad reaction to Azelex to go away.

I have been using Finecia for a month and a half. The stinging is mostly gone and my skin is much clearer and much smoother than it has been in years.

i have been using finacea and retin a micro for 5 weeks now, and my skin is worse than before. I have more acne lesions than ever. It will stay on for two more weeks but if my skin doesn't improve, I will stop the treatment.

I only use Skinoren in the PM, but wow! The texture of my skin is so much smoother than it was before. I had given up on ever having skin without tiny bumps all over it. The itching was minor but short-lived for me, and it is slowly fading my old spots. Warning! It's also fading the rest of my skin, so my face is now paler than my neck. With the marks gone, I can live with that. I don't pay much as it is covered mostly covered by medical here in Taiwan. I'm also using Cleocin Gel in the AM and I'm finally cyst free, only tiny occasional pimples. Hooray! My derm is awesome!
