Azlex was awful! I took it for 3 months and it only made my face worse. I also took it with Duac and my face has never looked this bad in my life. I thought middle school acne was bad, you should see me now I look like a monster! I would never recommend these meds for any one, unless I don't like you.

This product does wonders for redmarks, you just have to give it a month or so. I haven't really noticed if it's controlling breakouts because i'm already using something for active acne. The only downside to this is, if taken with another acne product, it can seriously burn and itch almost to the equivalent of having a chemical peel so I only use it every other day. Even when i wasn't using the other acne product, it itched a lot.

It worked well at first but after a week or so my skin soon went back to its original state and feels too irritating. It itches like crazy everytime I apply it. One good point is that it doesn't make my skin flaky and dry.

I've been using Azelex for2 weeks now and have seen some improvement in whiteheads. I sill continue to get pimples but hopefully this will become less often as I continue. I plan to give it the 6 weeks but if I'm no more satisfied than I am now I will be asking for a different medication. The best thing about Azelex is that it doesn't irritate my skin or make it dry and itchy at all which is amazing to me because I have very sensitive skin!

Itchy.. a little strange under make-up, I use it only in the morning, and differen gel at night.. somethings working, and my face isnt peeling off! It really is a little itchy, but thats much better than painful acne, I'm gonna stick with it for a while, so far so good!!

I've used it about 4 months.

I don't like wearing it at night. It is irritating. I feel like i can't put my face on the pillow if i do wear it. It doesnt seem to soak in - it makes my skin feel waxy. Also, and this may be incidental as it is summer over here, i think it makes my face sweat.

I wear it in the day time, unless it's really sunny out. In terms of effectiveness - I don't rate it.

Price - everything is the same, just the nhs prescription charge, so i can't comment really.

Anyhow - all you can do is try it a few months and see how it works for you. Evidently there are a few people who have benefited, just i'm not one of them.

I have been using Azelex for 3 weeks now and my acne is worse than it was when I started. It seems to help prevent new lesions on an already clear area of skin but doesn't seem to do anything for an already infected area. In fact I have many new lesions now that weren't there before and more on the way. It burns slightly, itches like crazy and has a drying effect on the skin.

I've only been using azaelic acid for a couple weeks now (I'm using Finacea) but I'm very pleased with it. I've tried Retin-A and Retin-A Micro, but they irritate my skin too much. Having sensitive skin, I'm suprised that I have had no discomfort from this because so many others seem to have. I love it-It works great and it is the ONLY thing I've used that works and doesn't make my skin red, flaky, and painful.

I used it a few years ago. It worked ok at first but the tingling and itching got to a point where I had to stop using it.

Free on English NHS! Woohoo!

But does it work? It sort of does. It dries out skin pretty well and stops you getting too many new ones, but my god does it itch!
