Pros I use Azelex, it has a mattifying quality that makes me look better. It doesn't cause any redness or peeling. My skin is more even toned and my scars are fading. Combined with Proactiv lotion works great.
Cons The first few applications had a very mild stinging sensation but after the first few days that stopped happening. Now it feels great. Seemed to sting more if my skin was even a little damp.
Bottom line I used Proactiv, Murad, Retin A, the oil cleansing method, Birth control pills, Benzaclin, and oral tetracycline. My skin would peel and crack and the redness and irritation seemed to get as infected as my zits. Azelex is changing all that. The cream is soothing, and I haven't experienced any redness. I almost don't need foundation. My pores are smaller now. When I feel I need it I may infrequently combine with leftover proactiv lotion. For years I thought acne meant I had oily skin but now I know that I have dry skin. I have begun to treat my skin like a piece of old lace and it has improved. Cetaphil wash is the strongest soap I use, Thayers Rose water witch hazel for toner (alcohol free),Azelex cream, and Neutrogena sunblock 30 spf and I am done. Considerably less expensive too since Azelex is covered by my insurance and the other stuff probably cost 25 bucks total.

Pros This product is by far the best cream prescribed to me. I've tried everything from Differin, Duac, Retin-A, to over the counter products like Oxy, Clean & Clear, etc...and this one is GENTLE to my skin, FEELS GREAT under make up, CLEARS PIMPLES FAST
Cons Nothing yet!
Bottom line After 6 years of horrible combinations that left my skin dry, red, and more embarassing than my acne itself, this cream, along with Doryx 100 mg (once a day) has DEFINATELY made me feel like there is hope for clearer skin and feeling beautiful once again. The best part, I've only been using it for 3 days!!! I can't wait to see how much improvement I will see in a few weeks!!!

Pros Finacea gel is a miracle so far! Have used it for 3 weeks now and have not had a major breakout since. Red spots are also fading quickly!
Cons None really, just a little bit of tingling after application. Not bothersome at all.
Bottom line This product is absolutley wonderful! I am 29, and I just went to the Dermatologist for the first time 3 weeks ago for mild acne and redness/scarring from previous acne. She prescribed Finacea gel on affected areas at night, and Duac gel for spot control in the morning. I have tried a lot of OTC products for acne and none have worked as well as Finacea. I am so glad I went and got something that worked! I am looking forward to having a beautiful complexion once again, like I had back in college!

Pros i've used it for 2 years & it has kept my acne away. i've suffered w/ acne since my teens & into my 20's. my dermatologist recommended i use the azelex w/ nicosyn (another topical acne cream) & they work well w/ my skin. forget retin-A or differin
Cons none. when i first tried it, i didn't have any irritation. just the fact that my pimples dried up & shrunk. i saw a big difference in two weeks and the patches of redness went away.
Bottom line i've tried everything from retin-A, drug store brands, department store products to proactive. azelex and nicosyn really work. i guess i finally met the right dermatologist who actually listened & suggested the right treatment. i ran out of my medication & actually my skin is doing well on it's own, now. funny to say, but...it's been 4 years i haven't used it. i am now 29 & i guess i grew out of the acne stage. i just wanted to comment on how these products worked so well for me that now i don't need it anymore. only thing i wish is i had found the products when i was in high school when my acne was at it's worse. red and painful. i trully recommend these treatments because it's gentle and it works.

Pros Essentially cleared up the disaster that Retin-A Micro made of my face. Within 5 days, my scars lightened, I have not developed any new acne, and the old acne is disappearing. What would I do without it?
Cons Itchiness, but I hear it goes away. And well worth it, if you ask me.
Bottom line Finacea 15% is a miracle drug.

Pros I saw a difference after one day of using it.
My old scars seemed lighter and more even. Acne dries up without drying out your face. I thought it wasn't working at first because my face wasn't dry. Only cost me $10 with insurance.
Cons none
Bottom line everyone is different, but it works great for me.
Price paid $10.00
