| Pros | -Easy to do, at home mask -Cheap -Tightens pores almost instantly -Leaves skin feeling tight and well cleansed - So far, enjoying -Leaves skin with a nice fresh white glow |
|---|---|
| Cons | -Extremely flaky/powdery when used alone -Messy during application -Messy if mixed with other products (preference honey) |
| Bottom line | Enjoying the new (mask) routine, however i do mix with pure honey. Gives satisfactory results for up to 3 days after application. A plus side is literally being able to see results after cleansing.(Prior to washing off the mask i slightly massage with warm water, only on nose & chin). Salicylic acid, is powerful! When i used the Aspirin alone i broke out slightly (2, 1one nose, 1 on forehead) - but - Also seeing results, with tightening of pores. Adding honey i find is a perfect happy medium I believe in persistence. Hoping the results will continue to improve with usage. Note: Due to the Salicylic acid , using this mask more than 2x per week can cause damage to your face cells. Personally use this mask once a week. However building up a tolerance to this product will allow you to be more indulgent if you prefer. |

| Pros | could've helped a bit |
|---|---|
| Cons | messy, saw no miracle, even after several uses, I'm not sure if it's good to have that much aspirin absorbed into your bloodstream (even topically) |
| Bottom line | not a miracle cure for me, I think french clay masks work better5 |

| Pros | -flattened acne -cheap -made skin feel fresh and clean |
|---|---|
| Cons | -not really anything, just a little messy to make! |
| Bottom line | IT FLATTENED MY ACNE! My pimples are still a little pink, but they are much flatter! I read instructions on how to make it on another review and I tried it and in a few hours my the size of my pimples was reduced! 1)crush 5 aspirins on a small plate and put the powder into a bowl. 2) add little amounts of WARM water until the mix is like a paste. 3) (optional) Honey can be added so the mixture doesn't dry your face out as much! (If it needs more water after the honey is added, just ADD IT! ) 4)spread evenly over your face, massaging lightly as you do. 5) wear for 10-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water! *If it seems too rough and not looking like a mask don't worry as it dries you will feel it hardening like a mask. Hope it works as good for you as it did for me! :) |

| Pros | I'm nearly 40 and have developed more issues over the years. I started using an aspirin paste years ago. It works well and can be used as a preventive. I did find a work around for the abrasiveness of crushed tablets. I use Aspercream! It's not terribly expensive, lasts a long time and simply works for me. It's not smelly, either. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can be a bit greasy. I put it on overnight and wash my face before putting on my make-up. However, it's not excessively greasy. |
| Bottom line | Worth it - not abrasive or smelly. Convenient. |

| Pros | Can be used as a spot treatment (haven't tried it as a face mask). Reduces size and redness of pimple |
|---|---|
| Cons | Takes a few days to work on big ones Slight stinging at first (first few minutes). |
| Bottom line | I had a crazy cyst on my cheek that I thought would never go away. As soon as I saw the cyst forming, I mixed a little water with uncoated aspirin. I then dabbed the paste onto the cyst and let it sit there for a few hours. I did this for a few days. By each day the cyst got smaller and smaller. Now the cyst is flat. It formed into two pimples during the process, but these two pimples have been greatly reduced. I still have a slight redmark, but it's flat now. |

| Pros | cheap can't hurt |
|---|---|
| Cons | doesn't work |
| Bottom line | I tried this on a cyst... didn't work... but it didn't hurt. I'm not the type of person to do this every day as a preventative, so word on that. |

| Pros | Exfoliating, very inexpensive, many many uses. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can irritate skin, especially if you rub |
| Bottom line | Aspirin masks are far too irritating to use on my face, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE them for my legs, pre- and post-shaving. It totally clears up any razor bumps or ingrown hairs, and helps my shaves last for days (instead of mere hours). I made a pre-shave mask with ground up uncoated aspirins, honey, and glycerin. I let it sit on my legs a few minutes, then VIGOROUSLY rubbed it in with scrubby gloves right before shaving. After shaving, I used a home-made aspirin toner, with 70% alcohol and witch hazel, then moisturized with jojoba oil. My legs feel sooooooo smooth, even on the second and third days. |

| Pros | exfoliates reduces redness of pimples heals quickly no dry spots but i have oily skin |
|---|---|
| Cons | Burns |
| Bottom line | Its amazing!! my acne was pretty bad. i didnt like to go out in public when i had a breakout. now when i have a breakout its just a little one. i use lemon juice instead of water it works great! BUT if you have sensitive skin i would not recommend using lemon juice with it. i also use moisturizer either lotion or olive oil. which also helps with my oily skin! i do this twice a day, morning and evening before bed. Good luck! |

| Pros | Works extremely well on certain types of acne |
|---|---|
| Cons | Does not work on all acne |
| Bottom line | Aspirin applied topically DOES work - BUT (and this is a big 'but') only with certain types of acne. Aspirin, when taken orally, reduced internal inflammation and thus relieves aches, pains, and some swelling. However, when applied topically, aspirin does not always have this effect. In my experience, the aspirin mask is most effective on erupted pimples - those which have come to a "head" and are ready to be popped, or have popped. In the case of those pimples, the aspirin mask does a good job of reducing redness and swelling, and also dries the pimple, to reduce its size. However, the mask is largely or sometimes completely ineffective on cystic acne and so-called "underground" pimples - those pimples which sit beneath the surface and hurt when touched. The aspirin simply does not absorb into the skin and have the same anti-inflammatory effect that it does on internal inflammation when taken orally. So... it is useful, but just one item in your anti-acne arsenal. I also find a green clay mint sulfur mask to be more effective on erupted pimples. Ice is really the only thing which works to reduce the size of, and eliminate, underground pimples. Just to add - you can use coated aspirin - it will just take longer to dissolve. I hold the coated aspirin under warm running water, rub the coating off, and then make my paste with what remains after the coating has come off. (You can tell when the coating is gone because the aspirin becomes gritty to the touch and begins to dissolve almost immediately.) |

| Pros | Immediate results ! Redness Reduction Shrinks Pimples and acne scabs Evens skin tone Softens, no dry, crusty patches |
|---|---|
| Bottom line | I am blown away by the effectiveness of this - I just discovered the aspirin mask on this forum last night during my desperate search that has now lasted almost 2 weeks. I have always had clear, awesome skin and then all of the sudden, out of nowhere I got a few pimples on my chin, off to the side, beneath my lip and to the side of my mouth - so of course I picked and tried to pop them and they turned into scabs and then MORE, smaller pimples showed up so .... I messed with those too.... anyways, I ended up with some serious nasty redness, scabs, dryness grossness that makeup wouldn't really cover - I tried everything - Finally Aloe Vera and taking French Green Clay supplements started helping with the redness and pimples and the scabs started to shrink but I was still mortified to even go out to the store - SO this afternoon I mixed about 4 crushed up aspirins with Polysporin gel, Aloe Vera Moisturizing Gel and Aloe straight from the plant and rubbed it all over the area in question - Maybe 4 hours later I washed it off, patted it dry and while the pimples are still there, they have shrunk dramatically, the scabs are gone and my skin is all one color...no red...no dry patches, no scarring or dark marks and only two of the pimples are still on the large side BUT those came to a perfect head which I will WILL myself to leave alone and let them work themselves out. I am so impressed, I can't wait to do it again tonight lol |
