I've noticed a lot of people who complain of ineffectiveness are drinking this stuff with juice. ACV works to create an alkaline environment in your gut and kills Candida, which may be a huge contributing factor to acne as toxins are being released through your skin. Drinking it with juice causes blood sugar spikes and feeds acne causing yeasts in your gut, canceling out the benefits. Drink it with WATER and drink it throughout the day for maximum effectiveness. Dilute whatever amount is to your tolerance and needs. I use 6 tsps or 2 tbs. and sip throughout the day. I don't think it's the miracle people claim, but it has given me a nice glow and combined with a no sugar, no dairy, no gluten and no yeast, it has contributed to killing my candida and keeping me clear..

Pros:
  • healthy, makes an alkaline environment in your gut, can help skin, among other things
Cons:
  • taste and smell

I'm not going to claim that this will work for everyone, but for me it cleared acne completely when used consistently. When I drink about a tablespoon a day for a week straight, my acne clears up completely! But then I'll start slacking because my face is clear and I'll start to get a pimple, so I'll start taking it for a couple days straight and the pimple goes away. I would highly recommend using it.

Pros

  • stops cystic acne from forming!
  • clears acne completely!

Cons

  • the smell and taste at first
  • moderately severe
  • for a few months
  • $ 6
  • I recommend using this product/treatment.

Cons

I have been drinking ACV for two weeks, drinking 2tbs three times a day (in total 6tbs/day, diluted in water).

I have moderate acne (5 pimples at a time, during my time of the month), and mostly hormonal-caused. I unfortunately have the bad habit of picking at my acne, therefore causing scaring. Also the pimples I get along my jaw line tend to be cystic, also leaving scars.

ACV has significantly helped with scaring and I notice a significant decrease in the severity of my acne.

Pros

  • helps with scaring
  • gives energy (sort of like coffee?!)
  • lessens severity of acne
  • stops cystic acne from forming

Cons

  • awful taste...
  • not a pleasant smell
  • queezy feeling if you drink it too fast
  • moderate
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 6
  • I recommend using this product/treatment.

I drank ACV for about 5 months. It caused gastritis (inflammation of the stomach). It took a long time to diagnose and many medical bills to figure out what was wrong. It also caused frequent heart burn. I used less than the recommended amount too. If you are drinking this stuff and are having heart burn or nausea, you should probably stop. After I stopped drinking ACV, I had stomach problems for about 9 months and had to take Zantac 75 everyday.

Pros

  • it's supposed to be good for you

Cons

  • it caused gastritis - a condition that lasted for months
  • smells and tastes bad
  • there's no offficial FDA research on it for acne
  • IT DAMAGES YOUR STOMACH LINING!!!!
  • moderately severe
  • for a few months
  • $ 6
  • I do not recommend using this product/treatment.

Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar is the only brand that i use. It is 100% natural Apple Cider Vinegar and contains the 'Mother' which looks like a brown sediment that is in the bottom of the bottle (It contains all of the beneficial nutrients). I pour a few table spoons into a shot glass and down the hatchet. I happen to like the taste of vinegar so it doesn't affect me but most people dislike the taste. I feel healthier inside and out after drinking ACV and it has great health benefits.

Pros

  • inexpensive
  • natural product (ingredients)

Cons

  • smell
  • light
  • for more than a year
  • $ 6
  • I recommend using this product/treatment.

I've been having light breakouts on a very regular basis, and for someone who always had clear skin until about 2 years ago, this was a big deal. I did minoclycline (which worked, but I don't like taking antibiotics or much medication in general) and Epiduo. Cleared it up, but once I quit, acne came back. Just recently tried Proactiv. The regular strength tore my face up -- super dry and peeling. The gentle formula just didn't do anything. Don't spend all that $ on it, because it won't work. I recently found Apple Cider Vinegar, and within the 2 days I've been using it, it's dried up the pimples that I had. They're not gone by all means, but are on their way. I'm hoping that after a week of drinking it and applying it topically, I'll be seeing better results than I ever have in the 1.5 months of using Proactiv. Plus this is $7 for a big bottle of Braggs Organic ACV whereas you'll be spending $25+ on Proactiv's so-called miracle products.

I had previously been using regular ACV and will now be trying the Organic ACV with the "mother" still in it. I'm mixing 2 tsp of ACV with 1 cup of water and drinking it 3x daily. This seems to be helping me because I feel like it's my hormones that are causing all the problems, and if it can be taken care of naturally, I'm all for it!

Pros

  • clearing my skin!
  • helping with my digestion
  • easily attainable

Cons

  • smell and taste (if you're like me and were struggling with acne, you're not going to mind either of those so-called cons)
  • light
  • for a day or two
  • $ 7
  • I recommend using this product/treatment.

I'm 23 and have been on two courses of accutane, 1 of doxycycline, 1 of monocycline and a few other various forms of both topical and oral medications for acne. Ironically, I have never had severe acne and each medication cleared it up but after a couple months my acne would always return. Now that you understand more of what my acne was like and the lengths I went to cure it you should be able to relate to me if you are in a similar circumstance.

I had given ACV a try once before and found no results. After some time I decided to try it again but this time both topically and orally with the right type of ACV (Bragg). After a couple of days my skin improved tremendously so much so that I began to tell my family members that it was the cure for me. In the last few days I have gotten a couple breakouts (nothing bad) but I am under the impression that they may have just being lying dormant before I began ACV.

I highly recommend the use of this product.

Regimen:

Wash face with blackhead scrub.

Apply 1:3 ACV with cotton swab to face and let dry. (Morning and night)

Ingest ACV twice daily. (Combined total of 4 cap fulls from the bottle.)

Short and sweet!

Furthermore, combined with my above regimen I take a steady dose of daily vitamins as well as protein/creatine for any of those that might being similarly devoted to going to the gym the vitamins I take are:

Fishoil

B-complex

Orange Triad Multi

Glutamine

Enzyme Digest (for protein breakdown)

All of these are taken throughout the day. Do not take glutamine with protein. It causes putrification.

Pros

  • Softer skin
  • Reduced size in acne considerably (for both present acne and future breakouts)
  • Reduced redness

Cons

  • Smell, although you overcome it after a few days.
  • moderate
  • for about a week
  • $ 3
  • I recommend using this product/treatment.
