Adapalene (Differin) Reviews

I was on this differin gel for almost 2 months. This product only worked for a week for me. After that, my acne became worse, in fact, it was the worst in a year! I was very disappointed. My doctor asked me to use BenzaClin and wow it works extremely well after only 4 days. I haven't had new pimples since then.

I started using differin 3 years ago, and would recomend it to any one with mild acne. In combination with a topical antibioctic it can very very effective.

I'm fairly new to this acne stuff, unfortunately after I was married the acne has gotten worse. I am noticing that there are a lot of comments about Cystic Nodular acne. I think that it what I have been getting. will someone please send me some helpful info on this? Please? My dermatologist just talks and talks and talks and I really don't think he cares nor did he see me while I was having a bad break out. My face was actually pretty clear when he saw me. right now I am on differin gel and the Duac which stings a lot. Any help is much appreciated.

It's a great product! apart from the itching and flaking and burning at first.

After having tried 10 or more PRESCRIPTION products over the last ten years, INCLUDING a stint with Differin about 8 years ago, I decided to give adapalene another go. Well, the only difference I saw with this round of Differin is an increase in the number of cystic nodules on my cheeks and peeling, peeling, peeling. No improvement after four months using Doxycycline concurrently.

I started using Differin about two weeks ago (I used Retin-A several years ago) and my skin feels oily and greasy. I'm trying to get through the initial flare-up which I have seen (a lot of red spots) but I can't take the oil. I've had none of the itchy, dryness others have talked about - I'd give a lot for some dryness right about now.

i've been using it for almost 8 weeks, and if anything, my acne is worse than when i started. the redness and dryness has pretty much cleared up, but i haven't cleared up at all. has anyone used it for 2 months without noticing a difference, but kept using it and it eventually worked? i'm trying to decide whether to quit using it or not.

I am using and I first off see that my skin feels smoother after 3 weeks. I still have red marks but after it sheds a few more layers, the redmarke will be gone

natalie, I am on the same treatment as you and I am also 20yo. the doxycline seems to stop the break outs kinda, or not so severe, the differin loosens and brings to the surface the acne, and the benzperoxide sylic. acid kills the germs that were brought to the surface. hit me up on aim sometime DUSTIN13NC

Have been using Differin gel, on and off, for over two years now. The direct effect is moderate, it does not prevent the occasional break-out of acne but it ensures that the breakouts dry out more quickly. An indirect effect seems to be the healing of my acne-scars, a little bonus!
Side effects noted are severe dryness and some redness, but this is easily managed with a good moisturizer. Differin(adapalen) in gel form is not all that it set out to be, I still have problems with acne and wish there was a quick and simple solution.

i've had moderate/severe acne since i was about 14. over the years nothing has worked, but i'm now 20 and i've been using differin gel for almost 3 weeks. i have already gone through the initial break out, and it has already began to clear. i still have red marks from where i broke out, but i'm hoping those will fade with continued treatment. i have tried many things in the past, and this has proven to be the best so far. the only downside was how incredibly dry my skin was at first..and very red in more sensitive areas..but that has also all passed. i wash with cetaphil in the morning, apply duac gel(1% clindamycin, 5% benzoyl peroxide), and then i wash again at night and apply the differin. i'm also taking doxycycline. if you've got the patience..i would say this is a really good treatment.
