Used Differin for like probably 16 weeks and it hasnt done anything for my blocked pores (Blackheads) IM SICK OF IT!! Nothing seems to work!! It might of helped for a while but until now no effective improvment, unfortunately...I didn't have any bad reaction to it so im going to keep using it and see what happens! Good Luck to everyone who feels my pain on the skin topic!!

My dermatologist prescribed Differin. The insurance paid for it, so I only had to pay a small fee (about 5 $). I used it on my face, back and chest. I had little to moderate acne, but Differin made everything worse. I broke out really bad, and so I stopped using it after 1 1/2 months. Plus, the skin was really dry on my back and chest (lots of wrinkles!), and the pimples took forever to heal. It really kindof "destroyed" my skin. Now I have lots of red marks everywhere. Horrible product, I'll never use it again. The only plus is that it doesn't bleach your clothes. I'm on "akneroxid" now (5 % BP), which does bleach fabrics (I always wear a white shirt), but is MUCH better (face = clear, chest = almost clear, back = only little improvement).

I have tried antibiotics, all kinds of topical creams, gels, and liquids and nothing had helped.

I was using ProActive and my skin cleared up fairly well on my face for about a year, and then it came back, even though I have been using Proactive.

I have been on Differin for 4 weeks now and have not noticed any side effects except for an increase in breakouts, but the breakouts healed quickly and seem to be staying away. My pores are small, for the first time in my life.

Use lotions and be gentle with your skin, but stick with it!

first i would like to say that iam using it now its about one month passed i could notice that it helps to reduce the scars of acne more than cure the acne itself...iam using Roaccutane now parallel with ratin A and Dalagis T gel those two creams i put them as mask on my face in night while iam sitting in home after work iam using on the spots -differen gel thats from one month, i will continue using those medicines to other two months even my acne is mild but i have also about 4 cysts but according to my doctor this treatment will help in reducing the acne chances after marriage....i could say that diffrine is helping my acne to be smaller as i noticed my friend face after using differin for one month and now she has a pure face even the scars of acne is disappeared from using it on the spot...i recommended this to all kind of acne but not cysts becz this need roaccutane....even i got tired but iam fighting to finish the other two months to finish my cure....

OK, I have used Differin to treat my acne for over 9 months and I can say it has worked to clear up my skin. However while using Differin in combination with Tetracycline (it kills bacteria in pores), I have only one bad thing to say about Differin and that is it causes tremendous redness and dryness on my face. But Id rather have a red face than an acne covered face!!!!!!!!!!

the differin has made my face disgusting! i have moderate adult acne and it says to wait those 3-4 weeks, well it's been 3 and i really can't go to work like this. i am an esthetician and i can't have this horrible skin. i will stay on my doxycyline, but i am stopping this.

I started using Differin gel with Cleocin pads at 18 and initially I noticed a decrease in size of large pimples. Over the years however it has stopped working; I'm not sure if my acne has developed an immunity to it or what. Now, at 22, while I have relatively few "small" break outs, the large cystic acne is worse than ever before and I have discontinued use of both products. Interestingly enough, after stopping the Differin I noticed slight overall improvement.--this could also be due to Purpose cleanser and moisturizer from walmart?

I have been using Differin for about a year now. I have tried so many other prescription products and they all failed. I am amazed and satisfied with Differin and what it does for my skin. The initial breakout is horrible but after a few months your skin will clear up. Even if you start to get a zit or two within a day or so it is dried up. I call Differin "poor man's Accutane". Differin is expensive if you don't have insurance coverage but since you use it sparingly it will last a long time. I use it every other day or less now and my skin is much more beautiful.
