I used the differin cream for 3 months and I swear my face only got worse. This did NOTHING for me.

As one girl said to me after I told her I was using Differin, "Well it's not making any Differ-ence."

Differin initially helped clear some of my mild acne, however after using it for a while my skin has gotten used to it and now it doesn't have much of an affect. :/ Sometimes the only way to stop acne is taking accutane. Other things just stop working after a while.

I had been on Differin for 6 months. I really hasn't work on my face. My acne, at first, flared up very noticably during the first three months; little whiteheads developed into big cystic lesions. My doctor said the medication was clearing everything underneath the skin surface. So I waited and continued following his instructions. During the next three months my face would clear up momentarily and then flare up even worse. Before starting the Differin, I used Proactive, and only had mild acne. I wanted to try something different to alleviate the small the occasional pimple that I would get so I tried the Differin, what a mistake! My acne has never been so bad. Before I had an occasional pimple, now get three or four cystic ones at a time constantly for the past six months. I have since threw my tube of Differin in the garbage and will never use it again. I figure six months was enough, going back to Proactive

Differin has worked well in improving my skin's texture, but not the acne. It is'nt powerful enough to control my acne. Although I am satisfied with it considering I was previously using it in conjunction with doxycicline anti-biotics and currently using it with accutane. My skin is really beginning to look normal again. No pimples or redness and my scars are gradually fading. Did you know that there is such a thing as "compassionate accutane"? It's pretty self explanatory. I had really severe cystic acne and no insurance. I attempted to purchase accutane as my Dr. strongly suggested, but came to find out that I really could not afford the entire treatment. So my Dr. submitted an application to the pharmecutical co. and about 6 wks. later, I had a 5 month supply of accutane waiting for me at the Dr.'s office. I am so grateful!

I have tried Differin cream, gel and solution on my back (my problem area). It initially helped, but nothing special. Then, it did nothing. I actually felt like it made my skin more greasy.

I started using it about 2 months ago and it seems to be clearing up my skin. I still have red blotches, but probably rather have those than pimples. It does make my face dry sometimes though, just wondering what a good moisturizer is. I don't want to use something that will dry my face out worse to cause it to break out again.

I have been using differin gel with a combination of doxycycline antibiotic and amoxicillin for 5 months. It helps but there is still no permanent cure to acne.I think my scars look more red after every night application. I Drink a lot of water, also apply lemon and cucumber juice on my face to help the scars to fade. I am very upset with the results of medication like proactive, elicina and retinol A. I dont ever want to try accutance, but zenmed acne medication seems worth a try! what do u think?
