I am 17 and extremly vain. i have had mild acne since i was about 12 and became more and more self concious of myself up untill now. Not to be big headed or anything but i am really pretty( or i get told that)and noticing the diffrence of reaction i get from people when my skin is bad or good is devestating to the point where i actualy dont leave my house anymore, which yes i know is pathetic but i kant face it. Iv been using differin for a few months and it has made my skin 100% WORSE than when i first used it- after reading these comments im comming straight off it. i have also tried dianette, euthromisin (or somthing), retin-a, and zinerett, all with no big results. im dreading the rest of my life untill my acne clears up

I've been using Differin for 25 days now and my acne is worse than before I started using it. I have been told to wait out the next 3 months to see if it gets better but I am becoming increasingly frustrated. It was very expensive even with insurance. Before I started using Differin I had been following a regimen prescribed by a naturopathic doctor which I had just started to see results. I am thinking about discontinuing it. Sounds like it has only been effective for a few people.

I tried differin gel and had no results. I used it with an antibiotic and still nothing. Don't get your hopes up and try something else.

This combination worked for me, as presrcribed by my dermatologist: 1) differin before bed 2) clindamycin antibiotic lotion in the day and 3) minocyclin antibiotic pills twice a day. Kind of hard to remember to take all these, but it worked very quickly - I noticed slightly smoother skin after only 2 days, significantly better after 1-2 weeks (although there are still those gray-purple leftover marks). It did not, as with other medicines I have taken, trade off pimples for red, flaky skin. Rather, it made my skin smoother and softer, so I would rate it very high in terms of agreeability. long-term effectiveness yet to be seen.

DIFFERIN sucks!!!!! Differin, plus Deoxycycline(pill), and Triaz 6% Benzoyl peroxide wash made my skin go from little white heads to cystic lesions in just two weeks. Now I won't come out of my room and I cry everyday. I hope differin disapears out of the universe. I fell like crying right now just thinking about it.

I used benzaclin and differen for a year. One thing that I was incredibly pleased with my dermatologist about is that she slowly introduced the differen--I was already on benzaclin, which had cleared up my acne cysts, but bumpy blackheads remained, for which she prescribed the differen. I started using differen once during the first week, twice during the second week, three times during the third week, and so forth until I was up to using it every day. This GREATLY helped reduce my redness and dryness, and because my skin was already used to benzaclin I did quite well. The combination of benzaclin and differen completely wiped out the bumpy blackheads and associated acne cysts that had made my face look so unpleasant for awhile, and I couldn't be more pleased.

I used tetracycline for about a year and I got rid of my acne. After three years i am bursting like a teenager. I am using differin along with oral medication ( tetra cycline)for about 4 weeks now . I had mild acne before using differin but after using this cream i see huge bumps every morning i get up. I am 30 years old i am not suppose to burst like a teenager. The bumps are huge in size and wont even dry for day's. They take forever to dry. I dont know how long will differin take to kick in. I am not sure if I should continue using it or not. .

I have been using the Differin gel for about year(I am now 15), and it has been working quite well for me. People must make note that Differin prevents future acne, not current acne. I didn't notice a difference in my face for about two months and then it kept getting better. I still get occassional pimples on certain areas of my face, but otherwise it works very well. I'd reccommend it, as long as your dermatologist does as well, but like I said don't expect super fast results.
