| Pros: | -Reduces severity of acne. |
| Cons: | -It does not prevent future breakouts, so I still constantly have acne. -The side effects are intense. -It's expensive. |
| Bottom Line: | I've been on the 1% gel for about a year now and it STILL burns- it burns when I cry, it burns when I'm out in the sun, it burns to put on face lotion, it burns to put on sunscreen, it burns to sweat, it burns ALL THE TIME. Also, my skin is red and flaky, especially around my eyes, nose, and chin. I still have at least 3-4 zits on my face at all times. Granted, they aren't as big and inflamed as they were before I was on the gel- but they're still a constant problem. As I stated above, it did *somewhat* reduce the severity of my acne, but in my opinion, the consequences far out-weight the benefits. |

| Pros: | Nothing that I found while using it for such a short time. |
| Cons: | -Makes skin very red, blothcy-uneven skin tone. -Veryyy Dry with both Gel and Cream |
| Bottom Line: | Went to doc for differin just to see if it would work any better then all the $hit I've been using.
Tired the Gel....made my skin veryyy red and VERY dry!
Cream, still veryy red but now DRY and OILY!
Don't use this, I just wasted 40$ on that b/s. Had to quit because it was making my skin so crappy I could'nt stand it! |

| Pros: | It works really, well, the gel consistency works and it's like you have nothing on your face (creams are really noticable) I didn't pay for it, my doctor rec. for me and i love it:) |
| Cons: | a little dryness, and that's about it. |
| Bottom Line: | it's really working for me so far, i've been using it for about 2 months and i see results. The product is supposed to be applied on at night before retiring as the instructions say so I have no problem going outside with it on because haha the sun's not out. and i've never had redness but that's because i applied a pea size amount (as the instructions said:) READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE APPLYING;) |

| Pros: | Well, it didn't make it worse... |
| Cons: | It just didn't work for me. I have very deep, painful cystic acne, and this did nothing to clear it up, nor did it help the lighter breakouts. And it burned like a fiery pit of hell |
| Bottom Line: | Not for me, maybe for you |

| Pros: | i have read that it will bring out, at first, all the possible pimples that will eventually surface. it will clear the deeper part of your skin, which is the mode of action of this medication. |
| Cons: | break-outs at first. long time of healing, usually 8-12 weeks. redness, itching and stinging sensation. |
| Bottom Line: | i have only used it for 2 weeks now and i am having initial breakouts. it is really irritating because what i expect is otherwise. but that's really how the medication works. it'll surface all your pimples and then clear it up. WE JUST HAVE TO BE PATIENT. DON"T EVER STOP. this might be the answer to our prayers. ACNE SUCKS!!!! |

| Pros: | Invisible, can't even tell I have it on. Odorless. Tube lasts forever. |
| Cons: | If I use it with other cleansers my skin gets horribly dry!! But by itself it's fab..i dont even wash my face before using it. |
| Bottom Line: | Awesome product. I never had horrible acne, but i did get a few on my forehead and chin. My doctor prescribed Differin about a year ago, and now I can't live without it. My skin gets dry very easily, but this product did not dry my skin out at all. I dont use it every day anymore, cause I just get lazy, but if I start breaking out again, I'll put it on and within two days I'm back to almost clear. I love it and you should definetly try it! |

| Pros: | Easy to apply, very minimal drying effect, no scent, tube lasts a long time, makes pimples go away faster, really cleared whiteheads-nothing has worked as well as differin, works well with clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide, affordable with insurance |
| Cons: | Took 2-3 months to see results, made me very sensitive to the sun- have to use lots of SPF, initial breakout was horrible but just means it works & it went away in a week or so. Does not work well with Salicylic Acid, made acne worse for a few days |
| Bottom Line: | This product really works! It does take time but be patient, it is well worth it. I have mild acne but it is the one and only thing that has cleared my resistant whiteheads! I apply it at night after cleansing with mild, non-soap cleanser and then apply clindamycin lotion after differin. In the morning I do the same thing but in Differin's place I use Benzoyl peroxide and then clindamycin, then SPF moisturizer. The initial breakout was probably the worst thing about it but that goes away quickly. Again, this product really works but you HAVE to stick with it and be patient. You will love the results! |

| Pros: | Impoves existing acne, doesn't dry out my (oily) skin, odorless, |
| Cons: | Dosn't prevent new pimples, works better with other medications, initial breakout, doesnt dry up pimples completely, takes a long time see improvement |
| Bottom Line: | I've been on differin for 5yrs and when I first started using it I really saw no difference until I used it with benzaclin and adoxa pills. Since I stopped the benzaclin and just use differin, my skin has been breaking out more which means differin isn't as effective on its own. |

| Pros: | In combination with emu oil, cleared my forehead and nose. Somewhat cleared my cheeks. |
| Cons: | Dries out skin, slightly irritating if you don't use a moisturizer after! |
| Bottom Line: | You need to be consistent if you plan to use this. Also, applying moisturizer immediately after applying Differin is recommended! After consistent use (once a day for a year) my forehead acne is completely gone, and my nose has cleared too. However, my cheeks still have acne so I can't say that Differin has completely worked for me. |
