I have had mild to moderate acne for 12 years. I used differin cream for 3 months and it didn't do anything for my skin. It was like I kinda had an initial breakout but things never got better. It took FOREVER for my breakouts to heal. The one good thing about this for me was that it helped to get my skin use to retinoids. My derm prescribed retin a micro .04% after the differin and I had no irritation at all with either one. In the last week I was bumped up to tazorac cream .1% and I still haven't had much irritation. When I was 16, I was on regular Retin A and it irritated my skin so bad that I stopped using it after 2 weeks. So the only good thing I have to say about differin is that it preps your skin for stronger retinoids that will actually do the trick!!

I had mild-moderate acne on my forehead for most of middle school, so I was prescribed with Differen cream. It worked okay for a while, but then I moved up to Differen pledgets, which worked amazing for me. However, the thing with Differen is that it makes acne worse before it improves it. My skin got drier and flaky, my forehead itched like crazy, and my acne got worse. But in a few weeks, it quickly got better and better. I used it all through middle school and was clear. By the time I got to high school, I didn't even need it anymore. I think the reason this has such a low rating is that people are rating this based on the first few weeks of use, which was hell, I admit. But it is very important to note that Differen is a medication to prevent future acne with continued use. I am currently in 11th grade and have been clear for three years, without even using the Differen anymore because I don't need it. So it does definetly work, but you have to be extremely patient.

Ive been using differin cream for 4 weeks and have not really seen much improvement. In the first 2 weeks it seemed to cause more spots but i thought this might be part of how it works at first -like it clears out the skin?? It makes my skin dry in the mornings after i wash it but i have had a few less spots than usual. I dont have severe acne but have a lot of annoying little blackheads that look like small bumps on my cheeks and T-zone. Id be happy with some improvement because ive had this problem for about five years and have quite low self-esteem.

I may not work for the first couple of months, but you need to be patient. You need to avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Also, you need to eat food that have beta-carotene since it is very good for your skin. Trust me, differin works! ^_^

I've used Differin for exactly one month now in conjunction with BenzaClin and minocycline and my skin has completely stopped breaking out after years of continuous breakouts all across my face.

I am 17 and extremly vain. i have had mild acne since i was about 12 and became more and more self concious of myself up untill now. Not to be big headed or anything but i am really pretty( or i get told that)and noticing the diffrence of reaction i get from people when my skin is bad or good is devestating to the point where i actualy dont leave my house anymore, which yes i know is pathetic but i kant face it. Iv been using differin for a few months and it has made my skin 100% WORSE than when i first used it- after reading these comments im comming straight off it. i have also tried dianette, euthromisin (or somthing), retin-a, and zinerett, all with no big results. im dreading the rest of my life untill my acne clears up

I've been using Differin for 25 days now and my acne is worse than before I started using it. I have been told to wait out the next 3 months to see if it gets better but I am becoming increasingly frustrated. It was very expensive even with insurance. Before I started using Differin I had been following a regimen prescribed by a naturopathic doctor which I had just started to see results. I am thinking about discontinuing it. Sounds like it has only been effective for a few people.

I tried differin gel and had no results. I used it with an antibiotic and still nothing. Don't get your hopes up and try something else.
