have had what is termed adult acne for the last 7-8 years (31 now). Dont ever remember it being this bad as a teenager. After lots of anti-biotic pills and ointments over that period the acne has become worse rather than better, looking back now I wish I had just rode the storm and not bothered with anti-b's as they probably just created a more resistant form of the acne. Anyway been seeing a top of the range derm now in Harley Street London. And they prescribed me differin (morning) and isotrexin (night), these derms know nothing really!!! same as my doctor really as in 'take this, now go away'. Have been on the isot before. Anyway Differin after a couple of weeks seems to be good in bringing out the spots, but it doesnt kill the bacteria, so more spots appear (it also drys the skin quite a bit). I do not recommend this at all for a short term fix particular if you are having a flare up at the time. Perhaps when my skin is clearer I will try again for reducing the scarring a little which it seems to be better at. They should call it break-out cream. £18 too for a tube of cream..

Well, I'm almost 40 and I STILL have acne. I could just scream. I've been on differin for only a week and have noticed acne has gotten worse. I'll wait as many weeks as I can as I really have tried everything else at this point. I've read all of the comments, and hope that perseverence will be the answer. Seems to help with wrinkles as well for some reason!

it's been a month and a week since i used differen. My skin barely improved. but i'm being patient. i noticed when i drink more water, the cream seems to have a better effect on my skin. I have no idea. But yeah, when i get a pimple now it's not as big or it doesn't hurt as much as they use to. maybe it might work in the end.

I have mostly blackheads and a few of the red pimples. I tried Differin and it did not work for me at all. I gave it a full 12 weeks too! I seem to be gettin more of the red ones and it was not getting better. My doctor changed me to a the mildest Retin-A. It is already working and I have only been using it for a week. I hope others have better luck with the Differin than I did.

Meh. That is the one word that can be used to adequately describe this medication. It does, indeed make your face WORSE at the start. Nothing wrong with that if it actually would then proceed to clear your face up, but it really doesn't. It takes a very long time if it even does at all...

Give it time it WORKS!!! You have to be patient, at first your acne may get worse but over time it will clear up.

I have been using differin cream for 3.5 months. I will say my acne has improved, but the improvement has been slow. I notice it is helping smooth out the scarring a bit, but it doesn't seem to help that rapidly with the hyperpigmentation. I think this is a medication that shows results after 3-6 months. But it is wonderfully gentle.

I've been using Differin for about one month and it seems to be doing it's job. It takes TIME to see the results. So have some patience people and quit STRESSING, which is probably giving you more zits.

DIFFERIN HAS TOTALLY BOOSTED MY SELF ESTEEM AND MADE MY SKIN ALMOST TOTALLY CLEAR.. IVE ONLY USED IT FOR 3 WEEKS AND I CAN TELL I HUGE DIFFERENCE. AT FIRST YOUR SKIN GETS WORSE BECAUSE IT HAS TO BRING UP ALL THE ACNE THAT YOU CAN SEE BUT THEN IT KILLS IT!! SO IF YOU GET IT DON'T EXPECT IMMEDIATE RESULTS.. GIVE IT TIME!!
