I have been using differin for almost a year and just went and got my eyebrows waxed. I now have red/pinkish arches over my eyes and i'm not sure whats going to happen, hopefully i won't get scars.

I am 43 years old and have suffered since I was 13. I went to a plastic surgeon and he prescribed Obagi System. I used it for 3 months and my skin got horribly worse. I then did my own research and started using Neutrogena benzyl peroxide mask twice a day and differin at night. My skin never got any worse, only better. Now all the acne is gone, but some scarring remains. I no longer use the BP but it has been 3 months on the differin and I am hoping it will get better, I read on the net that it continues to work even 10 years after beginning using it. I would not stop using it now. I think the combo with the benzyl peroxide kept it from getting worse initially.

i used this on my cheeks, as i had a few little bumps, and now, because the skin on cheeks is delicate, i have scars from pimples i didnt even pop! however they are purply, bluey and i talked to my doctor and she said that in a couple of months it would fade, as it is just new skin which hasnt had time to fully develop. so know i no my scars wont last forever i am happier. now i only use differn on my forhead, and its working ok.Do not use if u have delicate pale skin!

This stuff is suppose to make your acne worst before it gets better... I had that experience and I went back to my derma. and he told me to continue because it is suppose to lift up all your acne from underneath that will come out sooner or later and after that.. you should be 50% clear or more.. it's true and I see it progressing on my skin now.

I had tiny little bumps on my forehead and I wanted to clear them up, so I tried Differin, twice a day, just on my forehead.... and within a week I had a GIANT cyst on my foreahead... along with all the little bumps! I'd never had a cystic pimple on my forehead before! I immediately stopped using the Differin, and switched to Brevoxyl Creamy Wash, which cleared up the litle bumps I'd had on my forehead AND the huge cyst that I presume the Differin caused! I can't imagine ever using Differin again after what happened to my forehead!

I had a rash all up the left hand side of my face that looked like acne (but i don't believe it was), so the derm. prescibed differin, PUKE my face started breaking out all up the right hand side of my face i have been on it since the beginning of March, I new when he prescribed it that he was just giving their standard "step one" crap along with the antibiotics (Doxy.)and didn't really put any thought into it. I have been on it for 3 months and it has just been miserable. He even gave me the "i have been treating acne for 30 years schpeel" and if he saw my face now i hope he would be embarrassed about his credibility schpeel he gave me. ok i needed to vent.

Im using differing and takin a pill of minociclyne every day. My acne is finally under control! I have been struggling with it since my teenage years and im 22 now. The only thing that had worked for me in the past was Accutane, but now this has controled it. Altough the first two weeks my skin was peeling and i seemed to got a whole lot of little bumps on my forehead, they aregoing away now, and i've been on it for about a month. I have tried it ALL before nad I've had no results, but this is actually working!!!
STICK TO IT! IT WORKS!

I previously rated this a "2" and I am downgrading it to a "1". It did nothing but create acne where I had none, and it made my forehead and temples all bumpy. I stopped using it and am on some new products - the forehead and temple bumpiness is now gone. The chin is still bad, but hopefully will improve with time. I really, really hated this product! It did not feel good going on my skin, and it made my skin look bumpy and haggard. I very much regret using this on my face.

I really tried to give this product time to work. It instructs you to wait at least 12 weeks before you should really expect results. I waited. It has been six months now, and with the photosensitivity, it is hard to say this product was worth it. It did improve my skin SOMEWHAT. I did have an underlying medicial condition (recurring strept throat), but even after my tonsils were removed, my skin wasn't perfect. This product also will leave a film feeling/apperence on your face... so your face is oily while it's dried out, too! However, someone with mild acne and I believe TEENAGE acne would greatly benefit from this product (I'm 23). I think my moderate acne and age/hormones may be the reason Differin was not the right treatment for me. However, I have WITNESSED friends who had amazing results. Good luck.
