Pros No new breakouts while using
Retinol makes skin look very healthy
Helps with redness and scars
Doesn't dry out face/skin is soft
Cons Some pimples not gone but barely visible
Sometimes face is not clean enough (oily)
Bottom line I don't know why so many people say it dries out their face! My dad had this one day when I came home and I was cynical because what I was using (neutragena oil free cleanser, recommend!) was really good in that it cleaned my face but my skin was moisturized. However the toner/spot treatment was very ineffective. I have pretty oily skin, but when I use drying products it's dry with oil as well, not fun! This product has made my face look WAY better, never dried it out, but im used to washing my face whenever I can, but now that I'm only washing twice a day my face feels oily midday. I just use some oil absorbing sheets and maybe a little hand sanitizer to get rid of excess oil without washing my face all over. My face hasn't looked this good since I was 5 lol, recommend to oily skin or difficult acne/scars. If your skin is dry or pretty clear don't try the SEVERE kit you have other options but AcneFree is my all-time favorite! 2nd favorite was Clean n Clear system, tried Proativ but these two beat it.

Pros When I first started using it, my skin cleared up within two weeks. I even got compliments on it! It did not over dry or provoke excess oils.
Cons It has been 5 months, and I think it has stopped working. I am getting breakouts, and should switch to something else.
Bottom line It was amazing at first. Then I adapted to it and it does not help nearly as well. I have breakouts once again. Hurrah!

Pros Clears different kids of acne
Can buy it locally
It works!
Cons Can cause irritation if not used properly
Doesn't come with moisturizer.
Bottom line My skin is very sensitive so I was worried about using this product. At first, my skin got irritated in the usually areas so I stopped using it twice a day - I also tried avoiding those sensitive areas (around my mouth, anywhere near my eyes).

No more irritation and my acne is disappearing fast!

I had cysts on my cheeks and neck and small, scaly, flesh colored, rash-like, pimples all over my forehead. My forehead is almost smooth now after a few weeks and the pimples on my cheek are almost all gone!

I am very happy with this product.

As for the moisturizer - I buy a three step kit, the last step is a repairing lotion which is not meant to moisturize. I use Aveno moisturizer for my face, but only every once and a while.

Pros Easy system
Worked very well at first
Moisturizer heals very well
Relatively inexpensive
Cons Does not necessarily kept skin completely free of acne over time
Dryness may occur
Moisturizer made skin oily (for me at least)
Bottom line I have been using this product for the past maybe 2 years to fight my never ending acne battle. I was actually a very faithful customer simply because it was cheap, it worked very well at first and it kept my acne from flaring up. The toner was nice and although the moisturizer made my already oily skin even oilier, it cleared blemishes and scars very well.

However, like with all acne products, it has its own negatives. Over the months, it feels as though my skin became so dependent on it that even a missed day would result in massive volcano eruptions on my face. Okay, maybe that last sentence was a bit melodramatic but bottom line, It was like a drug for my skin. I recently stopped using it because I was tired of feeling as though my skin will never be completely free and because of the constant shine and oil on my skin.

Okay, enough of my ramblings. The true bottom line is, if you're looking for a quick fix, get this. It works very well at first and it heals past scars! However, if you're looking for something long term, avoid simply because it will lose its effectiveness over time. Thus, I just recently switched to Dan's regimen. Hopefully, the regimen will be like my secret weapon in this never-ending battle.... Like a holy sword of light or something....

Sorry... That last line was kinda random...

Pros Clears up MOST acne- for me. clean feeling
Cons Not all acne gone, and after that benzol peroxide lotion (step 3) my skin was so irritated and tight I had to always use cetaphil in order to have some moisture on my face!
Bottom line AcneFree worked well for me, but didn't clear up ALL of my severe acne that I had- I still tended to break out, but it got rid of some of my bad acne I had

Pros ....
Cons Skin is gone.. feels like scales
Is that swollen.. yes!!!
Redddd face!
Hurts to smile and put water on my face
Bottom line I only used this product one day and three days later I STILL feel like I have a severe sunburn on my face. I have cried because of how stupid I look and how painful it is. I feel like a fish and my face is raw and swollen, and I have take accutane so I'm a trooper when it comes to side effects.. THIS SUCKS! I realllly want my money back, I don't know if I can though, what a waste

Pros Affordable and easy to get.
The cleanser made my face feel softer.
Cons Uneffective after a couple weeks of even consistent usage.
Made me break out more before it cleared some of my acne. And only a few blemishes cleared up.
Bottom line It says your face clears up in 3 days. Not for me. I tried to be patient and continued using it for about a month.

Now, I don't use it as often. I only use the cleanser every other night and I get the same results of using the cleanser every other night vs using the cleanser, toner, AND lotion twice every day.

Pros clears acne fast
smells nice
easy, convienent, and cheap
Cons made skin a little dry, but can be fixed
Bottom line i've read a lot about people's skin getting really dry with the severe system, but these can be easily fixed by wearing a moisturizer, i recommend either clinique or clean and clear brand. this stuff cleared my acne, and i don't break out anymore. however it did not shrink my pore size, but thats not what its meant to do anyway. this product is amazing!

Pros Clears up acne very quickly (About 1 month for my case)
Cons Dries your skin really badly
Acne pops back when usage is stopped
Bottom line I use acnefree's Severe. A year ago, I used to use it and it cleared my skin up. It really dries up my skin, so I switched to their sensitive line. After about 6 months, acne pops again but I decided to stick with sensitive. Nope, it doesn't work that way.

Recently, I just switched back to severe, and it clears up within a month. One thing to note when using their severe line. You have to scrub your face when using the cleanser. You'll see dead skin cells coming off.... :)

I've tried a bunch of different things too. I've tried clean and clear, clearasil, neutrogena. None of them worked.

It depends on your skin I guess, but hopefully it works for you too!
