Had acne since I turned 11. I'm now 30, have so many scars from cystic acne. Tried all the creams and lotions and gels over the counter. Tried multiple prescriptions (Benzaclin, Tazorac, 2 years worth of antibiotics of all sorts). It never cleared up. I had a exfoliating facial and now started AcneFree. It's very drying and makes me peel( have to exfoliate every night), but it is clearing it up dramaticly. I only have a few small blackheads and pin prick pimples. But it has only been a week...

I've been using University Medical's AcneFree system for one week now. Used Accutane for four months last year - skin was perfectly clear for 11 months, but is now starting to have small breakouts, particularly on my chin. AcneFree stopped my current breakout in its tracks. Yes, it's a bit drying, and it stings a little, AND the repair lotion is a bit gritty - but I use a soothing moisturizer (Cetaphil or Lubriderm) after I do the three steps to reduce irritation. I think it's a great alternative to Proactiv - that stuff is SO expensive. I used it for a while a couple of years ago, and stopped when I finally got an appointment with a dermatologist (who put me on oral antibiotic after oral antibiotic then finally Accutane). I told them that I couldn't afford their product anymore and wanted to cancel my membership. They kept me on the phone for ages and tried to hard sell me on this "secret" line of products that they only offer to people who aren't satisfied with the original Proactiv. Apparently it's supposed to be less irritating. I wasn't interested. I would definitely recommend AcneFree - it's less than $20 and you can get it at your local drugstore (as opposed to waiting forever for your next shipment of Proactiv). Two thumbs up!

This product burnt my face up! I used it once and my face was bright red, burnt and itchy the next morning. I am still dealing with the wrath of this stupid product. I am in miserable pain because my face is so red, so itchy and burns badly. AWFUL PRODUCT!!!!

When I started using Acnefree, I was a little skeptical because on the box, it claims your skin will be better within the first three days. Today is the third day I have been using it, and it is absolutely amazing. When I started, my face was covered with acne. Now, it has cleared up a little, and the huge bumps are now just red spots. Hopefully, after the next week, my skin will mostly be cleared up. THe price is also MUCH better than Proactiv. However, there are beads in the lotion which are a little painful when applied to the skin. But a little pain is worth a LOT of improvement...don't you think? It also does not have a strong smell as some other acne medications do. It has a slight fragrance, but nothing that would make you cringe.

I have had acne for years. I've used Accutane Retin-A and every over the counter product available. I used ProActive and really liked the results, but could no longer afford it. I tried AcneFree and at first thought it would work. I was terribly wrong. My skin looks worse than it has in 15 years. I still use the product religiously, because I'm afraid it will get even worse if I stop, but I won't buy it again once I run out.

If you have persistant adult acne, I don't think this product will help you.

After reading all the product reviews of AcneFree, I was excited to begin using it. However, this did not really work for me. THis is the first system that I have tried. My acne is mainly scarring. This product doesn't reduce the appearance of scars.

I have been using the products for 3 days I noticed a difference in the size of the pores on my face as well as the acne that's on my face. My face has a softer look to it.

So far I like acnefree!!

I have used ProActive for more than a year and it worked great. I have bad acne which flared up, cleared and flared up again consistantly. ProActive kept it under control rally well. I bought the AcneFree because the Proactive was a real strain on my budget and the Acnefree was ALOT less expensive. Now I know why...you get what you pay for. The wash was runny and thin and the repair lotion was rough and gritty and left a bad feeling on my face. My face peeled as did the skin on my fingers. After I stopped using it, it took about three weeks for the damage to heal. I am happy to pay the extra money for my ProActive, no questions asked.

When I started using AnceFree it was good becuase about two to three weeks my ance cleared up. And my face was so clear, I felt so pretty and my acne never clears up using all the other products in the stores. But I also have used ProActive it was good but I kept getting cold sores on my mouth after from using the product. And thats why I stop using ProActive and started using AnceFree becuase it works!

This stuff actually made my acne worse. I kept using it for over a month, hoping things would get better, but they never did. Plus, it made my pores look kind of dirty looking. I think that the sticky feeling that the repairing lotion leaves behind actually made dirt stick to my face.
