I have noticed an improvement within 3 weeks of using Acnefree. I was a little surprised because the fact it has SD alcohol in it, so I was sceptical. I did breakout while using this product. However, the acne was not as severe or infected.
Just use in reasonable amounts. This is my tip. If you are still breaking out using any acne product, the problem might be that it is irritating your skin, perhaps the alcohol or other factors, that might be my guess.
Overusing acne products can cause breakouts, I learned this the hard way. Always be gentle with your face. Never scrub just lightly use your hands.
Follow the regimen, if you are breaking out, see a doctor. I believe any over the counter medication mentions this.

i used klear action and that made my acne worse. i used to get a few pustules around my period, but nothing too bad. i used klear action and it made it about 10 times worse. i went from having 2 large zits to about 10. i dont recommend that one.
i put up with it for a year, then i ended up buying the acnefree system when i went to walmart in september. it worked for the first couple of days, but i didnt use the toner because it had WAY too much alcohol in it. it seemed to work, a noticeable difference, but i let it run out. i bought the system again in november, and my face was scaly, red and tight. my acne got much worse and i was starting to think my acne was eczema, which i had as a child.
i tossed the face wash and toner from teh set and i still have the renewing lotion which is great. i use the regimen i found on this site, but instead i use the renewing lotion on my face at night instead of the regular bp. going from this time last month until now, my face is noticeably clearer. my outbreaks are hormone related, and this time around i did not get the large, red pustules i usually did. i got smaller ones, but using the renewing lotion got rid of them completely. i also added the queen helene mint julep mask and the face scrub. i use the mask every other night and the face scrub once a week. my skin is a lot better than it was, and im happy about that.

I've never used this product, but I use ProActiv.
The point I am trying to make is that I have read SO many testimonials about people saying that certain products stop working after you stop using them, and that products like ProActiv are "addicting", etc.
I don't think people realize acne is not rooted on the skin. It's a horomonal imbalance and liver issue.
Acne will only go away once your horomones slow down, and your liver is able to kill all toxins produced my raging horomones.
People also say that benzoyl peroxide stops working after some time, when it has been clinically proven to be physically impossible for your skin to reach a tolerance for such a substance.
All in all, you may just have bad skin, or a very toxified liver and weird horomones, but acne will never go away and will never "come back" due to topical ointments, it comes with time and age, when you liver can react to toxins in your system, after your horomones have slowed down and your pores stop shrink and stop producing such large amounts of sebum/oil.

I've been using AcneFree for three weeks now. I have noticed great improvement. But as someone who has had over a decade with acne and has never really cared for or been consistent with skin care, it took some adjustment.
The first few days, I noticed that immediately after use, my skin would have little water beads as if I had just finished showering and had not dried off. After the first few days, my skin was less oily and was starting to clear up. It was also very dry and red. One day, it was burning to the point that I spent my lunch break with Noxzema on my face to sooth it. After the Noxzema and the use of some Eucerin creme, my skin felt fine again. I found that I had to slowly adjust to the product. I stopped using the Terminator spot treatment and starting using Eucerin or Cocoa Butter on my face at night. After a few days, I stopped using the additional moisturizing cremes and went back to using the Terminator spot treatment- but this time just once a day instead of twice a day.
My skin is much clearer now. I have noticed much fewer pimples and blackheads, and much of the scarring that results from breakouts is starting to fade- further evening out my skin tone. (This may also be a result of the AcneFree Scar Lotion, which I use only at night.) I've also noticed that my skin is not nearly as oily as it once was, my face isn't as shiny, and my skin is much, much softer. My skin has never felt like this before.
I know that this product will not be right for everyone, and that the side effects differ from person to person. But give the product a chance before you write it off. It takes some time to adjust, and you may need to ease into using the product on a regular basis. I don't suggest using it twice a day at first, and make sure to have a good, soothing moisturizer ready. It helps. It may take some time to adjust, but you may as well give it a shot. You spent money for it, and- although AcneFree is cheaper than other products- you deserve to get your money's worth.
