This moisturizer was never any good when I was on the Acne.org regimen. The Cleanser is amazing, the treatment is great and worked well (stopped working after a year though, still recommend the regimen because it may work longer for others) HOWEVER, the moisturizer was just plain bad. It left my face super oily ALWAYS and also the flakes from my skin were never cleared when using this moisturizer. If you go on the regimen (again, I recommend cause it worked for a while and gave me a great high school life) try to get another moisturizer, the proactiv moisturizer worked best for me (not their crap 3 step system though....).

Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Makes skin super oily

I love this product and have used it for years on a limited basis. It's great for times when my face isn't too dried out. But when my neck and face and on the verge of peeling, this product won't dent that. In those cases I have to use a thicker moisturizer. So, it really depends on how dry your skin gets.

Pros

  • Won't make you break out
  • Great for mild dryness

Cons

  • Won't work for really dry skin
  • moderately severe
  • for more than a year
  • $ 24
  • I recommend using this product/treatment.

Not for sensitive skin.

Pros

  • It is affordable

Cons

  • Left my skin breaking out. I have very sensitive skin. Oily, thick, and not for me. I use their cleaner only and it works wonders.
  • light
  • for a few months
  • I do not recommend using this product/treatment.

I would have stuck with this if it wasn't irritating. I just don't understand why that happened when this is supposed to be specially formulated to be a very gentle moisturizer. I suspect its the new licochalcone ingredient or am I the ONLY one who found it irritating, or do I just have extremely sensitive skin? I'm currently using Cetaphil, though it moisterizes well and without irritation, it is too thick for my liking, but would be afraid to try Acne.org's lotion again any time soon.

Pros

  • Light moisturizer so it's easier to spread with the light touch of my fingers. It definitely moisturizes well and does not break me out

Cons

  • It could just be me but I found this lotion to be quite irritating to my face. Though there isn't any fragrance in this moisturizer, my skin felt like it was burning, similar to when I use the AHA. This also gives my face a very greasy look, I think it's because I am using the recomended dosage on my small face and it's actually to much on me.
  • moderately severe
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 14
  • I do not recommend using this product/treatment.

This stuff works on my dry parts, but I've found that I have to use a VERY small amount, or the oily parts of my face will be EXTRA oily.

Its a great product though. I give props to any moisturizer that doesn't break out my skin.

Pros

  • No breakouts, moisturizes dry skin, little bit goes a long way (for me), cheap.

Cons

  • Makes my T-zone feel like a slip n' slide.
  • moderate
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 13
  • I recommend using this product/treatment.

I would stick to my Cetaphil Moisturizer. This would have been pretty good without the yellowing color effect, I like how it does on very smooth and light. It does dry out and doesn't provide enough help much, I've used 3 pumps like what was recommended.

Pros

  • Very smooth and light formula, not thick and greasy!

Cons

  • Doesn't moisturize enough
  • The yellow color is annoying, can stain clothes and can be visible when you wipe sweat off your forhead
  • Can irritate the eyes a little bit
  • Smells weird
  • moderately severe
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 12
  • I do not recommend using this product/treatment.

This moisturizer has worked really well for me, I am on the acne.org regimen and am using all of the products which i think work great! REALLY great actually.

The best way to use this moisturizer is to apply 2 pumps gently to your face after applying the BP, once it dries a bit, add the third pump.

If you apply it like this it will for sure take away the flakiness, and once it dries, and you still see flakiness just dab on a bit more and its sure to do the trick.

My issues with this moisturizer is that if i so much as touch my face my hand instantly gets greasy and dirty feeling, even if i try to rub it into my hand from the interaction, it feels dirty and gross, and have to wash it off. This moisturizer may be great when applying solo, but with the BP underneath it does this thing where it travels and does not dry on my face completely. It feels sticky, and does not dry to a smooth surface at all. I feel gross when wearing it, like i don't want to give anybody a hug incase my face touches them and they feel sticky from me (nasty i know)

i recommend aveeno and cetaphil which are both very moisturizing and feel cleaner on the face

Good Luck and hope this helps!!!

Pros

  • Does a great job at moisturizing when used correctly.

Cons

  • After applied, it feels gross on the face and does not dry, its messy feeling.
  • moderately severe
  • for a few months

I used to like the old formula better but have grown used to this one.

I use 1 and 1/2 pumps for this. I think the recommended dose is too high for me, I have a smaller face then Dan. I add 4 drops of jojoba oil for during the day. After ten minutes, I blot my face gently with a tissue and this gets the excess oil off of my face.

Bottom line is I like the older one better, but I have experienced less dryness/itching with the new one. Dan should (if possible) produce the two different ones because I think this will not work for everyone.

My acne is very light now (previously moderate with horrible redness and scars) due to using the regimen.

Pros

  • Non-fragranced;
  • Non-irritating;
  • Better at moisturizing than the latter.

Cons

  • Color;
  • Thickness;
  • Takes more time to put on then using the older version of this product.
  • very light
  • for a few months
  • $ 15
  • I recommend using this product/treatment.

needs to do a better job against flakiness

Pros

  • doesn't make my skin oily or feel heavy

Cons

  • even though I put on 2 or 3 layers twice a day my face is still dry and flaky. I've tried mixing it with Jojoba oil, it's still flaky. Never had this much trouble when I was using Olay, I will probably switch back
  • moderate
  • for about a month
  • I do not recommend using this product/treatment.
