A little bit about me. I've suffered from acne since my late teens with spots over my forehead and chin which began to affect my confidence. I've used other BP treatments but this is by far the best one. I had a rather bad break out of spots about four months ago and used a 10 % BP treatment but this was way to hash and resulted in cystic acne as well! I swapped to this product and 6 weeks on I'm almost clear. It does take a few weeks to kick in but stick with it! It really has improved my skin!

Pros

  • There is only one word for this product AWESOME! I now have nice smooth spot free skin. Thank you acne.org.
  • It has completely cleared up my acne! the 2.5% BP is much nicer and less harsh on the skin compared to the 5% or 10% products. The product spreads easily on the skin.
  • A lot of product comes in the tube. I bought the 8oz one and 6 weeks later there still is quite a bit left in the tube. Although I only do the regime once a day.

Cons

  • Expensive to get in the UK but I will still continue to get this product because it's so worth the money.
  • Drying but this can be easily avoided by a good moisturizer and a few drops of jojoba oil.
  • moderate
  • for about a month
  • I recommend using this treatment.

Ok, I have to say this stuff is liquid gold. I've struggled w/acne throughout my teens & it got really bad about 19, covering my face in deep painful cysts. I tried various other treatments to no avail and finally tried this along with the cleanser and my own day & night moisturizers. There was initial dryness & flaking but now it just keeps my oily skin under control. No flaking anymore! I would recommend this product to anyone!! I'm also down to using this only in the am w/continued results.

Pros

  • very effective against cystic acne and small pimples
  • oil control
  • easy to use
  • non-irritating in the long-term
  • good quality product

Cons

  • can be over-drying (find a good moisturizer)
  • irritating at first (don't worry, it will subside)
  • can bleach out towels and pillowcases (I switched to white for anything regularly used on my face)
  • redness of the skin for the first few months (no longer a problem)
  • online purchase only
  • can be expensive
  • moderately severe
  • for about a year
  • $ 35
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on acne products untill my dermatiologist gave me BP presciption since then it has been a constant. Salicylic acid products do not work on my acne as effieciently as BP. for treating the acne scars i dab them with a paste of lime juice , tumeric and sandal withing 2 days the scars are almost gone. ALso the tea tree blemish treatment from Body shop is amazing in fading the old scars. Also i do not apply the BP on my whole face instead apply only in the areas where i get most breakouts. For face wash i use neutrogena's natural purifying facial cleansers and my face have been all clear for months now!

Pros

  • works fast
  • good as prevention and treatment
  • right dose

Cons

  • dry irritated skin
  • moderate
  • for a few months
  • $ 30
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I really enjoy this product and have been using it for a few weeks now. I do not apply as much as Dan suggests in his videos because my skin becomes very dry and cracked. I apply about a dime amount onto the palm of my hand and it on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. I rub in and violaaa! my skin feels a little tight after applying this but in the morning my pimples are under control and less red.

Pros

  • good quality BP
  • %- just the right dose

Cons

  • expensive
  • can only be purchased online
  • light
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 35
  • I recommend using this treatment.

i really like this as a maintence treatment to keep my face clear, i use a pea sized amounts dab each on my cheeks forehead(occasionally) and bottom jawline area. using this smaller amount i find it to be non irritating and effective. I would start off with very little and let it adjust to your skin when first starting off with this. ALSO alwayyyyysss replace after 6 months the texture will start to get more liquidy when its losing its effectiveness and you may get a little more acne if you dont replace after that time, other than that its a great product.

Pros

  • works well
  • keeps acne at bay
  • non irritating

Cons

  • may make red marks seem darker or heal slower
  • can be drying if your using too much
  • moderate
  • for about a year
  • $ 16
  • I recommend using this treatment.

We finally found an inexpensive, low-strength BP gel that my daughter is able to use without the burning and irritation that came with higher-strength BP gels. Since she's able to use it everyday her skin is FINALLY almost clear now, and she'll be able to continue using it as a preventive medication along with her prescription of Differin. It's size alone makes it inexpensive; 8 of the 1-ounce drugstore bottles of BP gel would cost around $40 before tax. I think this was less than half that. Highly recommend!

Pros

  • *It works on my daughter's acne-prone skin.
  • *It's gentle enough that she's able to use it daily without irritating her sensitive skin.
  • *The tube is HUGE and inexpensive and should last her a year.

Cons

  • None yet.
  • moderate
  • for a few months
  • $ 16
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I was using Panoxyl 2.5 % BP for 11 years, but it got discontinued in Canada. (don't know why since it was a really good product)

I was looking for a similar product but couldn't find any where I live.

I ordered BP from acne.org and after using it for a month, i have to say i am really pleased with the high quality of the product.

I don't have an opinion about the regimen because i don't follow it,

i have been using BP for about a decade and i guess i have my own personal regimen which works fine for me.

If you are new at using BP, i would advise you too stick to Dan's regimen at first and then play with it, add other products and add or remove steps as your acne disapear.

Be careful because BP does dry your skin so less is better at first. If your skin is dry and red, just stop using it for a day or two and it should get back to normal and then start using it again.

Good luck :)

Pros

  • High quality BP
  • Big bottle with pump

Cons

  • Shipping is expensive to Canada 9 $
  • Shipping is not fast, took about 3 weeks to get here
  • moderate
  • for a few months
  • $ 40
  • I recommend using this treatment.

So after giving The Regimen a fair 3 month trial I can honestly say it did not work for me. At first it seemed like it did, then of course there was the bad breakout.. Ever since then I've been waiting for it to get better.. It hasn't. It went from my cheeks and chin, to my forehead and neck. I've gotten more cystic acne while on the regimen then ever before. It's super painful and I was so bummed to find out this is just another product on my list of stuff that just didn't work..

Pros

  • Worked at first

Cons

  • Super drying
  • Redness
  • Felt like my face was burning off
  • moderately severe
  • for a few months
  • $ 60
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

Still a good product.

Also, there is a 4.0% BP product out there. I wonder if Dan has considered positioning the product line to have a slightly higher BP %, say, 3.25- 3.5% so people who really need a stronger product (like the old PanOxyl 5) can use this?

Pros

  • Inexpensive price.
  • Goes on easily and smoothly.
  • No extra useless additives like coloring or scents that people might be allergic to, that would only raise the price.

Cons

  • Slightly greasy compared to the discontinued Stiefel/GSK PanOxyl line.
  • So it doesn't dry 100%!
  • This makes my face stick to the pillow at night, slightly, unlike the old GSK BP line.
  • moderate
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 16
  • I recommend using this treatment.
